Battles is smooth sailing today

Crypto Market - Flat and deflating
- Not much happening with BTC, still staying above $30k
- While HIVE pulled back a cent, buying pressure and volume died down again

Diablo IV - Still haven't played since I got hooked on Final Fantasy XIV
- Diablo IV got DDOS attacked yesterday, people were having issues logging in
- Now Blizzard has posted this notice, maintenance TODAY -AND- TOMORROW
- The most hyped up patch coming up tomorrow?
- I have been waiting on this patch before going back to playing
- Most looking forward to increased EXP, increased DROP RATE, and much improved QUALITY OF LIFE updates
Meanwhile, over at the Final Fantasy land... (FFXIV)
- I have completed the base game, A Realm Reborn
- Marauder (Warrior), Arcanist (Summoner/Scholar), and Rogue (Ninja) all over level 52
- Now just cleaning up the quest log, and moving onto the first expansion content (still free trial)
The experience is excellent, so far I have put in maybe 70 hours of gameplay? Looking forward to another 70 hours at least the expansion
Would I buy the game and pay a monthly fee?
Maybe, if I continue to have fun. So far it's looking good
Reflecting on the Web2 vs. Web3
Do I care this game has a monthly fee, no NFT, I don't own anything, the company can close down the server anytime and at some point the game will end and I have nothing to show for (financially)?
No.
I think the mistake we are making in web3 and ownership is turning everything into ownership and financial.
Let's not forget why we play the game in first place - #1 fun
A lot of web3 games are not fun, not polished, you own the NFT while not having fun then so what? Why spend the time in first place?
Building up your capabilities and experience and a real job in the real life earning fiat has the higher probability to give most people a good life
Never focus on the exception and thinking you will be like them, maybe you will, but >99% of the people won't
So, what do I have to show for at the end of the day from web2
- Good memories while having fun
- Screenshots or videos documenting the journey (most of the time it is better to not even go back to the past, and let the happiness and impression forever live in the memory)
If your game doesn't pay off in fun right away, it probably will never pay off financially (or you are just dumping it on the next bag holder)
Wow! Congrats! ✨✨
Excellent legendary! congratulations! And friend! You are definitely hooked on Diablo IV, you remind me of me in 20212 with the release of D3/RoS I was so excited that I even bought the steel series themed headset and mouse. My enormous expectations were exceeded by the gigantic disappointment that was the game and its expansion. From that moment on the saga died for me and from what I see D4 only limits itself to repeating the same formula, it only has updated graphics =/ Anyway, enjoy the adventure!!!
Already bored of D4, waiting for the update.
I am really happy you were able to hit the champions League finally
