💥 Key Points 💥

Tuesday Release Notes

Conflicts Continue

The third conflict card will be added

Gameplay Updates

A new rule set, Shades of Gray, will be added. When this rule set is in play, only Neutral units may be selected for battle.

Land Updates

Will add a Regional balance history for land resources.

Tech Modernization

We will make some changes to how the client handles issues connecting to the server. There will be more of a distinction between the game being in maintenance mode versus an error connecting.

General Updates

The holding account for tournament prizes will be moved to a new account, used just for that purpose.

Affiliate Payments and Referrals will be changed to display as a scrolling list, instead of a series of tabs.

The funds burnt for additional energy will be tracked on the balance of the $ENERGY account. We will do our best to back populate the number for funds previously spent.

During team creation, when hovering over units selected for your team the cards will display.

Will remove the “Low Power” icon from displaying when you fall down a league in ranked play.

Will fix an issue with logged out users getting errors if they navigated directly to the battle history page. They will default to the Leaderboard tab, since there is no history of battles when you are not logged in.

Will remove a caching layer from the non-card market that wasn’t really needed to boost performance.

Items Hotfixed into the Game Prior to the Release

Fixed an issue with Kei being findable in packs prior to the end of the Conflict (shortly after the last update).

Updates from Matt

Ranked Reward Changes

  • Ranked reward changes scheduled to go live April 2nd
  • Instead of just directly earning chests, you will earn reward points called Glint to be used in the new reward shop
  • Options in the reward shop will include: reward cards, potions, energy, merits, limited edition titles
  • Or you can just save your Glint across seasons to make a larger purchase down the road
  • Will be changing gladiator cards to be burned for merits
  • Will be removing the focus system with the plan to create something more robust in the future
  • A post will come out before April 2nd with more details

Overhaul of the Ranked Battle System

  • It will take some time to settle in
  • Things will calm down over the next few weeks then we will see what issues need to be addressed
  • We are listening to the community feedback

Bots and Battle Helpers

  • The issue is that we have a limited amount of resources on our team
  • DAO proposals for resources could help to detect bots and battle helpers
  • As far as the issue of fewer players in modern since bots have been banned
    • goal is to get more players in the game
    • another idea is that the DAO votes to increase rewards in modern
    • another option is the team could create non spell book accounts at different levels and have them operated by bots (they would not take rewards)

Future Updates

  • One click set rentals
  • Onboarding experience
  • Mobile app
  • Marketing and promotion
  • April 17th Bitcoin halving promo card event
    • DAO proposal in the next few days
  • SPS validators
    • Starting in Q2 the plan is to put a team together to get validators live
  • Land
    • DEC grain market is finished and in testing
    • Should be released within a month

NOTE: All rewards from this post will be sent to @sps.dao.

Sort:

This new rule is going to be tough, I need to run out and get my Lux Vega 😅

It states neutral units. Dont think that only neutral summoners will be allowed.

Time to get Xenith Monk increased in level for that new rule.

I hope there's also a rule where you can use all monsters in all elements. Like, I can have Tarsa as the summoner but I can use Cursed Windeku (Death), Venari Crystalsmith (Life), and Djinn Oshanus (Water) as the monsters.

SPS can be purchased in the store or will continue to be distributed in rewards?

We need to know how many merits we'll be getting from burning cards compared to how much DEC. This info needs to be available before the change.

'As far as the issue of fewer players in modern since bots have been banned'

As someone who is has bots in wild I wish I could play in modern without having to to buy energy since all my energy is consumed by the bots playing , I guess I could reduce the number of battles they do but what I am wondering is if there is way to separate the energy requirements for wild and modern so that people with bots can play in modern , The issue I see is that the cards are being used twice per hour or however often the bot is set but this leaves other times to play as I have often wanted to play in modern but I am not interested in having to buy energy and this would allow all those with bots to play in modern. What happens with the cards if a account running a bot plays in the tournament at the same time as the bot, also in regards to tournaments it is a lot to have to enter 12 battles and so if there were tournaments that were less battles I would enter them more often.

Thank you so much for the update

Looking forward to April 2!

This means the end of soulbound cards as rewards. Saddening.
