SPELLS & ITEMS
Today's post features a magical spell called MYCELIUS SPORES. This is an earth splinter spell cast during the tactics stage for 2 mana, allowing the caster to debilitate 1 unit with POISION.
SPELLS
THEY DO NOT LAST MORE THAN ONE BATTLE. Every item and spell cast by its owner is burned after the battle where it's used.Magical spellls are NFTs on the Hive blockhain minted by SPL players. They look like typical #splinterlands cards. They have a mana cost and a splinter (or multiple splinters). They're applied like tactics during the tactics screen. They do not combine or level, and
This Meriput fighter doesnt looks so well. Maybe it's those poison mushrooom spores?
THEME = POISON MUSHROOMS
There's a long history of earth creatures with the POISION ability. MUSHROOM CREATURES are also a standard feature of this splinter.
Looking at the image below, you'll see that there's never been an SPL card set that didn't feature at least one earth card with POISON. Based on this, it feels like a spell with the POISON is already a good fit for the game, and should integrate seamlessly into the general earth splinter meta of gameplay.
There's just no doubt---earth creatures love to posion stuff!
REBELLION - POISON TACTIC
MYCELIUS SPORES is applied like a debilitation during tactics screen, similar to how the POISION tactic operates on the Rebellion tactics summoner UNDERBOSS FABINO. Applying this spells as a debilitation (rather than as ability) further lines up with the current pulse of modern gameplay, where tactics-style POISON was recently introduced for the very first time.
THE CARD
MYCELIUS SPORES is earth splinter spell. It costs 2 mana. Its rarity level is a RARE. For the card art, I tried to imagine some type of Meriput fighter (pretend his name is MERIPUT FIGHTER). He was getting ready for a bigtime, smash-it-up battle in the arena. The only problem is that large scary looking mushroom creature that snuck up behind him 😵 Unfortunately for MERIPUT FIGHTER, he's been posioned. Before the battle even began 😞
The scene being conveyed here is one where MERIPUT FIGHTER has been poisoned by the spores from a scary looking mushroom creature.
HOW SPELLS WORK?
Spells have their own mana cost. Just like units and summoners . Except you spend "spell mana" in the tactics screen, not in the pre-battle screeen. This means that when you select the summoner and units for your lineup in the pre-battle screen, you need to leave some mana to spend in the tactics screen.
For example, if you want to use MYCELIUS SPORES in a 35 mana battle, you can only spend 33 mana on a summoner and units during the pre-battle screen. Then use the remaining 2 mana to cast MYCELIUS SPORES during the tactics screen. On the other hand, if you spent all 35 mana on a summoner and units, you wouldn't be able to cast MYCELIUS SPORE (or any other spells, or summon any items) in the tactics screen.
