How to climb out of Bronze using peakmonsters decks

Source: Peakmonsters

Hello guys, as you could already read in a previous article I started again to play Splinterlands after the proposal passed in which is stated that bots aren't allowed anymore in Modern ranked. Since I restarted playing I was thinking how could I climb as easily as possible out of bronze. I used to play in low Silver so I would like to play there again. It made me think about the Decks feature of @peakmonsters. You can find their initial article here.

As you can see at the date of the article, it's not a new feature, it exists nearly 6 months now. Although, I think it's still a handy feature, especially for newer players.

What are Peakmonsters decks?

The advantage of these decks is that people can see the decks that work for other people. So as I mentioned, especially for newer people it's awesome to see which combination of cards and abilities have a nice synergy. They can see rather fast which cards they could pick up themself as well or maybe just rent them first to try them out.

You can build a deck yourself as well, if you're not always that active, you build your deck and can afterwards just rent all the cards you want of the deck with a single click. So you don't have to select all the cards one by one, you just cross one check and can rent them all. Talking about easy usability, right?

Another important aspect in my opinion is about the ease to talk about a certain set of cards. You can already guess it. You just make a deck and share the link in your articles, in your @threespeak videos or just privately to your guild or your friends. For those who don't know this feature yet, I think it could definitely help to improve their @splinterlands gameplay.

In general I think it's a feature which makes the card management for (new) players a lot easier. As you can achieve a lot with just a couple of clicks.

Where could I find this decks feature?

Well, you just go to https://peakmonsters.com/ and there you click on "My decks" as shown in the following picture:

This will get you to the decks page:

  • The green area shows where you could select which decks you want to see, it's a general filter.
  • The blue area shows which specific decks you want to filter on, like element / mana / league / ruleset / ...
  • The red area shows the decks that match your filters. You can see some deck creators have the PRO symbol under their name, this means that the deck is created by a verified rather strong player, for example people who play on the top of the leaderboards of the ranked leagues.

How to climb out of bronze?

I already told you the advantages and where to find those decks, well now to probably the most important part for a lot of people: how to climb out of bronze, using these decks?
One of the streamers I like to watch a lot is, @bulldog1205 as he explains what works and why certain things work well. Besides his streams, he has a lot of usefull videos talking about Splinterlands strategy. So definitely check him out if you want to improve further while enjoying a nice stream! Here's his Twitch link:

When we look for decks built by him, we find this deck: https://peakmonsters.com/decks?deck=06ac3e99-1bcd-4c9d-ad31-074ae28ff9d9. You see how easily I'm talking about a certain set of cards? ;) He made a selection of the 'must-have' cards for bronze players. You can see a lot of different cards of different splinters. I won't talk about all of them, as it are over 100 cards. But some cards I like of his list are the following:

  • Fiends: The are some nice filler cards especially in bronze where often a low mana battle is happening. These cards cost 0 mana so are nice to fill up your lines.
  • Kron the undying: This card is just so powerfull, especially in bronze as people don't know how to counter him. As he has self-heal while dealing tons of magic damage, he's not that easy to kill. Especially when combined with the next summoner:
  • Scarred Llama mage: He gives last stand to all your monsters, so yes if your Kron the undying is the last on the field, it will become even stronger.
  • Lorna Shine: She gives all your monsters a divine shield, so they ignore the first damage they would receive. Especially with a lot of sneak light monsters, this is quite powerfull.
  • Immortalis: As there are a lot of magic fights, this summoner is a nice counter to them. As he gives all monsters the void ability. Which reduces incoming magic attacks.

I could go on but as said @Bulldog1205 added over 100 cards to his deck, so won't talk about every card. Instead check his deck out yourself: https://peakmonsters.com/decks?deck=06ac3e99-1bcd-4c9d-ad31-074ae28ff9d9

Now I'll win all my matches?

Ofcourse it's not that easy, besides having the cards, one has to use his brains aswell. Check out the information about the last matches of your opponent. Often it shows already which splinter and which monsters he likes to use. But I definitely think it could be an awesome aid to help boost your splinterlands career!

Thanks for reading my article! I hope you found it helpfull and I showed you something new or reminded you atleast that his feature exist. Thanks ofcourse to @peakmonsters for this awesome feature on their site (and all the other features their site offers!)

How did I begin to play Splinterlands?

It all began in December 2021, I was a bit bored and was looking for a new game to play on my laptop. After googling a bit, I saw the term play2earn in my google results. I didn't know it at that time but it seemed awesome, earning money while playing games instead of spending money on those games. Soon I learned that play2earn means that you can indeed earn some money to play the games. How does it work? While playing those games, you can earn NFT's of those games. These NFT's can be traded and sold for cryptocurrencies which could be swapped for fiat if you would like to. That's how I started.

Do you want to try out Splinterlands aswell?

Make sure you are in Modern then, not a chance in Wild.

I started to play again because of the 'ban of bots' in modern, so yes, at the moment I'm only playing Modern :D
In my opinion it's definitely a good update, although it still has to be updated in the terms I guess. But the difference between a couple of months ago and now is already big imo.

Interesting and really cool that it's brought you back. There are still Battle Helpers, the scourge in my opinion making it 'not BOT free' really. I hope to see more like you, returning to play the game as it should be.

I know that there still is software helping players from flesh and blood, but yes Rome wasn't build on one day neither. So I mainly like the direction in which Splinterlands (actually the majority of the community as it was a proposal) is going.
I see it as a first step ;D

I heard other stories of other (small) players like me, so I think it should help to build an enjoyable and sustainable game.
