Survival Mode in Splinterlands: My Battle Plan and Tips

in Splinterlands3 days ago

Hello there, my lovely Splinterlands friends.

I hope that everyone in the Splinterlands is having a great time. Splinterlands just got a big update with the addition of Survival Mode, which is a massive change that is already live now with a lot of talking in the sphere. This change will have an effect on how people fight and how the game is played, with so many associated changes. As part of the "🔥 Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Survival Mode Battle Strategy! 🔥," I'm writing this blog post today to tell you what this means for you, especially if you don't have as many cards as I do for the Survival mode battle. I hope that these rules and tips will help people who are just starting to play make a better deck.

Now let's talk about Splinterlands' Survival Mode. You may have already lost a few fights and stared at your screen while some of your cards went to rest for the cooldown period. Survival Mode is like chess, but every piece you lose sticks to the board for a short time. You need to plan ahead, keep your cooldown safely, and prepare your deck accordingly. In this post I will try to explain how I am planning for the Survival Mode. I will talk about how I am preparing, how I want to rent, and what will be the strategical moves.

The most important thing and interesting fact is that the Survival mode is giving too much reward at this moment as very few players are playing the game right now. I played Survival Mode the same way I played normal Ranked Mode when it first came out as a try, and I won my first battle. That was quite an easy battle. I used my fire splinter team in the fight. And I have also got a tiny share of SPS at the rating of 20, which is really shocking. I saw a player in the top ranking with a rating of around 3000 got 500+ SPS from a single battle, which is really a shocking scenario for me. So, I think it is important to consider playing in this mode for a higher reward.

The main point is that when you lost any card when they are dead and it will take certain time to get it back. So, I have a critical point for renting vs. owning cards and it should be understand properly to understand the whole concept and your strategy. I own a lot of decks with so many reward cards but often no summoner at the max level for some splinter teams. So, I am thinking what about the rest? Renting is not a good idea if I don't won a lot of games. And let me tell you, renting in Survival Mode is like trading stocks without seeing the future without any clue. If you're not careful, you could spend all of your DEC cash on return in case.

So, my plan for renting the most useful cards that can be used in more than one way for example, Venari Crystalsmith (heals and hits) or Pelacor Conjurer (flies and casts magic). In the long run, these are cheaper.

  • Stay away from hype trains. The prices went through the roof when lots of people start renting.

  • Limit how much you can spend each day.

  • Make sure you know when your rental ends as you can not play survival mode without seasonal renting.

  • Use cards you already have and wait to rent cards until you feel fine with the mode.

  • If it looks like you can't win a fight (like against a Level 4 summoner with Level 1 cards), give up quickly.

  • Keep track of cooldowns. I know it's weird, but I use a calendar and a notebook to keep track of when cards can be used again.

  • Take your time and play the long game. Being patient pays off in Survival Mode. Take a break or play in relaxed mode if your best cards are on hold.

  • Divide your cards for normal battle and survival mode.

  • Play with some intervals with certain splinters only to make sure your strategy is fruitful.

  • As you don't need any energy, don't be so obsessed. After one loss, take time to analyze again about your faults.

You can see that I have lost two of my cards in two battles. I have only used fire splinters as my strategy and later I will go for other ones. There are some things that can go wrong in Survival Mode. You will lose cards, quit in a rage, and start to question the choices you have made in your journey and how to minimize such situations and plan accordingly. But what happens when you get five wins in a row with a makeshift team you will definitely fly in the sky.

I hope you find some useful information in the post that will add more fun to your Splinterlands journey. If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments. I will try to answer them as much as I can. Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch you at the next one.
Have a great day!

Welcome my friend 😊

Having the cards is key, it’s not for the small collection…yet, once the massive collections have climbed out of the lower leagues the smaller collection will have a chance

Yeah, you are right. It is very challenging as whales are playing the game from the early leagues. Small holder will win more after the rating is finalized forr all level of players. Thanks for sharing your thought.
