The search for a new NFT game
Before looking into Splinterlands, I've played two NFT games: Cryptoblades and Gods Unchained. Eventually, I started searching for a game that I could potentially play in the long-term. I took a jump into the Splinterlands train because of the following reasons: it's way more developed compared to other NFT games, the game seems fun, and it has a low entry cost to be eligible for rewards ($10 Summoner's Spellbook).
First impression with the game
This is fun! I have only been playing for a day, but I can say that the gameplay is quite unique (and more addictive) compared to other card games. I mainly like that I encountered a lot of surprising strategies while I'm grinding for the daily quest.
So far, my favorite aspect of the game is the card rental system. As someone who is willing to grind a lot of rounds, but is strapped for cash (just planning to spend $10 in the entire game), the card rental system helps A LOT in building my strategy — and hopefully moving up in the ranks.
Mistake made - don't be too excited with that shining gold
Of course, my first day in the game would not have been done if I did not make a mistake. As someone who is lazy in reading guides and properly going through the tutorial, I usually learn by making mistakes first-hand.
As I was too excited to rent gold foil cards (to complete the power requirement and for bonus DEC), I did not realize that I won't be able to maximize the cards I was renting because of the level limit. Oh well, lesson learned.
Good thing I can easily cancel the rental on these cards. Time to look for other level 1 cards and build my strategy!
That's it for me on this post. Please comment if you have tips or you just want to share you experience in the game with me. I will also keep everyone posted about my progress in the game. Keep rumbling!
If you haven't tried Splinterlands yet, feel free to use my referral link to get started.
Rentals are key to Splinterlands now. Have you tried Peakmonsters.com for that?
Not yet, I was about to try but then it required logging into an account so I did not go through with it.
How was your experience in renting via peakmonsters vs. in-game market?
Peakmonsters is much easier and faster, with better tools.
İt is better to start with level one cards.
İ am also working on (10$ only) plan.. just started a while ago and posting about my daily..
May you have the best luck.
Thanks mate! I hope we get success with our 10$ only plan. Congratulations on moving up to the silver league!

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities . I see you already found the Splinterlands community, and you might like the Hive Gaming Community as well.
Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works.
Since you're new, you may run into an RC (Resource Credits) error when trying to comment/post because you don't yet have enough Hive in your account yet. For assistance with a temporary delegation to get you started, be sure to check out the Gift Giver site.
For now, @lovesniper will follow your account and we are looking forward to seeing your intro post. Also, please mention (also known as tagging) @traciyork & @lovesniper in your intro post in order for us to be notified, so we can consider your post for OCD curation.
