My Journey in Splinterlands

I joined the Splinterlands universe in October 2021, and since then, the game has become a passion of mine. While battles and strategy are an essential part of the experience, I’ve always been more drawn to the Land and Nodes aspects of the game. Owning and operating a validator node was a natural step, given my background in IT and my long-standing interest in blockchain technology.

I’m also an active part of the small Czech Splinterlands community, engaged in multiple guilds where we share knowledge, discuss strategies, and support each other.

About Me – Passionate About AI and Technology

My background in software development and blockchain technology made running a validator an exciting challenge. Here’s a little bit about me:

  • In crypto since 2013 – I’ve followed blockchain innovation from its early days.
  • Working in IT since 2007 – Gained extensive experience in software development and project management.
  • 15 years in a well-known IT security company – Worked in various roles, including QA Automation Engineer, Project Manager, Program Manager, and Product Owner.
  • Living in Prague, Czech Republic – Proud father of two sons and a tech enthusiast.
  • Passionate about AI – Fascinated by artificial intelligence and its impact on software development, automation, and future innovations.

Why Run a Validator?

Validators play a crucial role in securing the Splinterlands blockchain, ensuring transaction validation and governance participation. By running Nest-SPS-Node, I contribute to the decentralization and stability of the network while also providing a public API that players and developers can leverage.

Technical Setup of My Validator

My validator runs on an Intel® NUC Kit NUC6i3SYH, an older but reliable mini-PC, equipped with 16GB RAM, a 500GB M.2 SSD, and connected to a 1 Gbit/s internet connection. This setup ensures stable and efficient performance for running the node.
Unlike cloud-based validators, my setup is self-hosted on a dedicated home server, giving me full control over its performance and reliability. It is then connected to my own domain, ensuring reliability and accessibility, which ensures that the API remains accessible at all times.

Beyond Just an API – A Fully Functional and Interactive Landing Page with Top Voters, Built with ChatGPT

While many validators focus purely on running the node, I’ve gone a step further by creating a public-facing landing page for my validator at validator.inquisition.cz. This page provides real-time data about my validator, including:

  • Interactive Buttons – Allow users to easily fetch real-time information from the validator with a simple click.
  • Continuous Expansion – The landing page will be enhanced over time with additional features and insights to improve accessibility and usability.
  • Built with ChatGPT Assistance – The entire setup, including the landing page, proxy configuration, and .htaccess modifications, was implemented using ChatGPT in approximately 4 hours. This makes it very simple for even non-technical users to set up a validator with a functional API and user interface.
  • Top Voters Information – Displays the most active supporters of my validator, allowing transparency and engagement with the community.

Why Support My Validator?

If you’d like to support my validator, you can vote for Nest-SPS-Node here: Vote for my validator.

By supporting Nest-SPS-Node, you’re backing:

  • A dedicated and experienced IT professional ensuring reliable operations.
  • A long-term Splinterlands player committed to the ecosystem.
  • A community-driven validator contributing to decentralization.

I appreciate all the support from fellow players and community members. Let’s keep Splinterlands growing together!
