One of my happiest and luckiest moments in Splinterlands has been getting my Archmage Arius card from a mystery potion, which happened wayyy back in October of 2019. Here's the post I made when I got it "I got myself an Archmage Arius !!! (From a 25% Mystery potion".
Since getting the card, I have been abusing it's powers non stop to gain myself an edge over the average player in Splinterlands battles.
The card is super exclusive and very powerful even in the power creep happening through new sets of cards. Archmage Arius is very old as it has the BETA edition design on it, but it lists under PROMO cards. There are only 90 of these that exists and will ever exist (3 of which are gold foil).

Archmage Arius is only available in Max level (they weren't even given out in lower levels) and he provides +1 damage boost for all attack styles to friendly monsters.
I want to share 2 of my battles, where Archmage Arius lead my monsters to a glorious victory on the battlefield, maybe you can pick something up and start cooking up strategies to counter my evil plans in the future.
The summoner is not the hero of battles always, but it's always playing a key role!

Right into the battle it's looking my opponent was trying to gain some big stats by utilizing Martyr ability combined with resurrection, but as we can expect, this time it didn't work out that well for them.
Once his Venari Marksrat had perished, his heavy hitters in the back were looking ferocious and I was honestly a bit scared.
By the start of Round 2, his team was looking really light already, even though his big boys were still alive at the back.
And as the match had started, it had already ended in Round 2. A sweeping victory for the Archmage Arius and it felt like my opponent didn't even get a chance to put up a decent fight.

This was in a Guild Brawl battle
Looking at the battefield, we both had similar ideas by utilizing tanky taunt cards to draw initial fire, and I was not too happy to see Void ability on his card as most of my big damage was in the magic form.
But our taunt cards both fell at roughly the same time and now without any Void left on his team, I was feeling pretty confident due to my extremely good magic buff from Acrhmage Arius
I blinked and the enemy monster were just gone and again Archmage Arius had made his monsters make it look easy, maybe even too easy.
Archmage Arius is an extremely good summoner, but it's also one of the hardest cards to acquire in the game. The only way to get your hands on one nowadays is to buy it from another player and there are currently exactly 0 listed on the market.
Last ones I saw for sale were around $500, but don't quote me on this.

I've always thought of Archmage Arius as a card that sort of looks very strong, but in practice is pretty tricky to pull of. Maybe he was more of a force to be reckoned with in the old days, but even then there was Valnamor which I'm sure gave him a tough time. 🤔
Yeah, it never made it to the "game breaking OP" cards list, but I think one of the biggest strengths of Archmage Arius is that nobody expects it and even if they do, there's not really any counter against him, as it leaves options so open by giving +1 to all attack styles.
You're very lucky to have this card, it certainly owns on the battefield!
