I enjoy playing Splinterlands

Hey everyone, I haven't posted in a while.
I got burned out big time from posting for all these years, but hopefully I'm back now and can get to creating cool content again.

Anyways, let's get it going . . . SPLINTERLANDS

I enjoy playing Splinterlands

I have heard for years now from people who come in and out of Splinterlands that "The game is boring", which I never seem to agree with.

True Splinterlands is not as exciting as some Triple A games with explosions and adventures, but it's a nice relaxing auto battler card game that I really enjoy and I'm sure I can't be the only one.

For the past year I have found myself playing Splinterlands with passion, watching my battles, trying to counter enemies and try whacky strategies. True that 90% of my brain focuses on the rewards I get from winning battles, but I'm having FUN earning my rewards.

SKIP ? No!

Let me introduce you to this button, that I'm sure most Splinterlands players are familiar with.

Oops, not that one. I meant this button

Skip to results is a button in Splinterlands that you can press if you are not interested in the battle you have just summoned.

I BET that this is the most clicked button in the whole game, since most people are not interested in their battles and that's actually quite fair, after 6 years of having the same gameplay I get how people get bored of watching the same mechanics play out over and over again.

I myself have used the button a bunch and I will probably use it more in the future, but every now and then I get these streaks where I like to watch my battles and not use the SKIP feature.

Like right now I'm on a solidly hot streak of a full year of not enganging with the SKIP button, well not completely as I still click it if the outcome of the battle is obviously clear and only save a few seconds with it at the very end of the battle, but still I have watched over 95% of my battles for the past year.

WHY ? You've seen those exact battles thousands of times already

Well, no

With so many different Mana caps, triple rulesets and crazy amounts of new cards in the game, I don't think I have seen even 5% of the viable combinations possible in the game, probably not even 1%. (And I have played over 35k battles) (Also I have never botted on this account)

The ever growing world of Splinterlands has always a surprise factor to offer to me and that's what keeps me interested in the gameplay.

I'd go so far as to say, that I would even play the game if there wasn't a financial motive behind it, although I would play it a 1000 times less, but I would still be interested in a battle every now and then.

How to make Splinterlands more exciting ?

My favorite idea for Splinterlands has always been a 2 v 2 gamemode, I've been talking/hinting about it since 2020 on discord.

2 v 2 would be so much fun in my opinion, that it could compare with games on Steam or App store.

Just imaging queuing for a game and you see that your teammate is one of the top players from leaderboards and you get so happy thinking it's a free win, but then you don't want to look bad in front of one of the top players of the game so you need to sweat out your play even harder than normally.

Now I don't know exactly how it would/should be implemented if this idea ever catches on, but we got so many creative people in the community that I'm sure we could figure out something.

One idea with the rewards that I had, is that if Splinterlands branches out into multiple gamemodes, then reward pools could be split by player activity, meaning that whichever gamemode has most activity has biggest % of the pool and that would change every season.

This post was just me rambling xD, but Splinterlands has been really fun for me lately and I would love to know what you guys think about it too.

I'm also trying out the new @commentrewarder with this post, so make sure to leave your opinions in the comments and I will upvote some of the best ones.

I'm skipping most of my battles, because I just want to get through all my battles and it's very time consuming to watch every single battle. Especially right now when I have 12h workdays its just not gonna work watching the entire battles. I do watch my Brawl battles time to time tho.

@tsnaks, I paid out 1.367 HIVE and 0.266 HBD to reward 3 comments in this discussion thread.

Explain this comment rewarder thing to me please

It's a new service thing on Hive blog that popped up recently, where authors can choose @commentrewarder as benefactor on their posts for a % of the payout.

Then authors can choose to upvote people who comment on their posts and all the people the author upvotes in their comments, get shared the rewards of the post by the % the author chose for benefactoring @commentrewarder

This is their introduction post: https://peakd.com/hive/@commentrewarder/introducing-commentrewarder-a-new-service-to-reward-comments

I think it's a really cool idea to get people to engage more under posts on Hive posts.

Got it. Acid did mention about it to me.

Hah I saw this too and had to look into it...
