Combining cards in Splinterlands is an essential strategy for players seeking to enhance their monsters' abilities and gain a competitive edge on the battlefield. For me, Deeplurker stands out as a fan favorite among the many notable cards for its unique abilities and formidable presence in water-element decks. With its "Opportunity" ability, this melee-focused monster has the uncanny knack of targeting the weakest opponent, making it a crucial card for dismantling enemy strategies. I have wished for a better version of the beloved monster unit combining cards to level up its stats and abilities was the better option.
As players combine multiple copies of cards, they unlock increased stats such as health, speed, and damage, making the card more resilient and efficient in battle. Additionally, leveling up grants unlocks new abilities. For Deeplurker, leveling up transforms it from a solid early-game attacker to a late-game powerhouse capable of turning the tide of any match. For seasoned Splinterlands players, the decision to invest in combining cards isn't just a gameplay choice, but a tactical commitment to maximizing the card's potential in the ever-competitive arena.
WHY You should Level-Up Cards in Splinterlands
Splinterlands is more than just a card game. Itis a dynamic strategy battleground where the smallest edge can make the biggest difference. For me, it's a business too. One of the most strategic moves you can make is leveling up your cards. many players do not level up cards because they do not know the benefits. I was in that category before now. Let's talk about a few benefits of leveling up splinterlands cards.
1. Improved Card Stats
Leveling up cards directly improves their stats, such as increased Health (helps your card withstand more attacks, increasing its survivability), enhanced damage (boosts the card’s ability to deal more damage in battles, whether it's melee, ranged, or magic), and better Speed (allows your card to attack faster and sometimes dodge enemy attacks).
2. Unlocking New Abilities
Each Splinterlands card has abilities that activate at higher levels. New abilities can completely change how a card performs in battle and open up new strategies.
3. Access to Competitive Leagues
In Splinterlands, your ability to compete in higher leagues is tied to the levels of your cards. Higher leagues offer better Rewards (increased DEC, chests, and reward cards), more challenge (battling skilled opponents sharpens your strategy and gameplay), and higher Staking Benefits (players in higher leagues earn more SPS tokens daily).
4. Higher Rental Income
If you are looking to earn passive income, leveling up your cards makes them more valuable in the rental market. Higher-level cards command higher rental fees. They are more in demand, especially during tournaments or seasons.
5. Greater Flexibility in Tournaments
Tournaments often have level requirements for entry. Leveled-up cards give you access to a broader range of tournaments, allowing you to compete for substantial rewards.
7. Long-term Value Growth
In the Splinterlands economy, leveled-up cards often increase in market value over time due to their rarity and demand. This makes leveling up cards a strategic investment for long-term players who may want to sell or trade them later.
WHY Combining "Deeplurker" Cards
While leveling up cards in Splinterlands is a crucial strategy to boost your gameplay and competitiveness, However, with limited resources like DEC, SPS, or credits, knowing which cards to prioritize is essential. This knowledge helped me to choose DEEPLURKER over other cards in my deck. This water monster is my most utilized card.
I think that it is better to focus on frequently used cards when levelling up. These are support units that consistently appear in your lineups. I always love placing Deeplurker at the "last-but-one" spot in the battle to attack from the rear when the battle rulese allow for a water card.
Another thing to consider when choosing a card to level up is the card's ability. Prioritize cards with strong abilities. Many cards unlock powerful abilities at higher levels. Look for cards that significantly improve in performance when leveled up. Examples of such cards are those with abilities such as Tanks (they gain "Heal," "Void," or "Shield" abilities at higher levels), Damage Dealers (these cards unlock "Poison," "Blast," or "Double Strike.") and Support Cards (these are cards with "Protect," "Triage," or "Inspire.")
You can also consider Splinter preferences. That is, focus on leveling up cards from your favorite Splinter or the one you frequently play in battles. For example, if you love the Death Splinter, prioritize cards like Cursed Windeku or Carrion Shade. For Water Splinter, cards like Demented Shark (for Inspire) or Axemaster (for Double Strike) are worth leveling up. For me, Deeplurker was the cheaper option I had.
Yes, you've got to think of Cost-Efficiency. Analyze the cost-to-benefit ratio of leveling up certain cards. Some cards require fewer copies or less DEC to level up while providing significant advantages. Common cards are cheaper to level up but still offer strong improvements.
Don't forget that reward cards are often easier to accumulate and level up. Focus on leveling these, especially if they fit into your preferred strategies.
HOW to Combine Splinterlands Card
Let's look at a Step-by-Step Instructions for Combining Cards in Splinterlands
Step 1: Log in to Your Splinterlands Account
Go to the Splinterlands website and log in to your account using your credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to Your Card Collection
Once logged in, click on the "ITEMS" tab in the menu.
This will display all the cards in your collection, organized by Splinter, Rarity, and Level. You can also see the count of cards you have so as to know how many more you need to level up. I had 3 Deeplurker cards at level 1.
Step 3: Select the Card to Combine
Locate the card you want to level up. You can use the filters to narrow down the cards by Splinter, Rarity, or type (e.g., Monster or Summoner).
Click on the specific card to open its detailed view.
Step 4: Check Card Level Requirements
Verify the number of cards needed to combine and reach the next level. The requirements vary based on Rarity:
- Common: 400 copies for max level.
- Rare: 115 copies for max level.
- Epic: 46 copies for max level.
- Legendary: 11 copies for max level.
I needed just 5 cards to level up from 1 to 2.
Step 5: Combine Cards
Select the number of cards you wish to combine.
Click on "Combine." In the card detail view, you’ll see a “Combine” button if you have enough duplicate cards. A pop-up will show how many cards you’re about to merge and the resulting level.
Confirm the combination by any available transaction authentication option. For me, it was hive-keychain.
Step 6: Wait for the Process to Complete
The system will process the combination, and the new card level will show in your collection.
The duplicates will be burned (removed from circulation), leaving you with one leveled-up card.
Step 7: Verify the Leveled-Up Card
- Go back to your collection to ensure the card has been leveled up.
- Check the card’s new stats and any abilities unlocked at the new level.
NOTE:
Before you combine cards, be sure you have the required number of duplicates before attempting to combine. Also, unlock any locked cards before combining them. Cards rented out would not be combined during the period of rental.
In the case you do not have the required number of cards, you may have to purchase it. I did so for mine. I had to buy some DEC tokens on hiv-engine and transfer same into the game wallet to be able to buy the number of cards I needed.
It was all fun through the process. I will be combining more cards to fully upgrade my gameplays to level 2 cards.
