Prelude
Welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern where I look at how I crossed over from playing in Wild Battles till today on Modern Battles, sharing with the community the struggles, the strategies and things I do to move towards playing in Modern. With Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards coming live, there is an increase in the number of Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards seen on the battlefield, so as I've started to review the reward cards for this particular post series, let's continue to look at 2 more of the Soul Bound reward cards.
I am really satisfied with the new Rebellion Soul Bound reward cards as they have been featured often in my gameplay and I am certain as I obtain more copies of them and having them levelled up, they will showcase even more prowess on the battlefield. Hopefully I can get more with more Glint gathered.
Rebellion Soul Bound Reward Cards
End of season just finished and I've accumulated some Glint and I am in the midst of contemplating
Let's continue from last week where we reviewed 2 legendary water splinter reward cards and completed all the cards for water. Now we move on to earth splinter and start with 2 common cards.
Halaran Huntress
First card that we will look at today is the Halaran Huntress. I own a copy of this card at level 2. To me, this card is a gem even though it is a common card. Firstly, it is only 4 mana and qualifies for Little League. Next it has 2 really good abilities, one is flying to ensure better survivability and the other is charge which is a new ability that came with this set of Soul Bound reward cards. Charge allows this card which is a melee attacker to remain at the backline and still be able to strike your enemy to support the frontline takedown of tanks. As this card levels up, it also gains snare that reduces the effectiveness of flying cards on opponent side. I like to hide this at the last position so that the flying helps fend off sneaks while it still effective strikes. If there is something to work on early, this is one card to focus!
Blackmoor Wild Elf
I also own this card and also at level 2. This card has camouflage and amplify. So it does make it painful for blast, thorns or magic reflect. A little awkward mana at 5 mana which disqualifies her from Little League and in terms of damage scaling, it is consistently at only 2 damage which is a pity, there is only more scaling of stats on the health part. At final level gives cripple which is not a bad ability. Otherwise looks an average card and maybe good when selected for odd mana matches.
Assessment
My take is that Harlaran Huntress definitely a notch higher than that versus Blackmoor Wild Elf. Utility wise it is also more versatile and qualified for more rulesets. I have actively been using Harlaran Huntress in matches that I need a little more firepower and it always gave me the support I needed. But no matter how, collection expansion is important.
In terms of rating, Harlaran Huntress should get around 4/5 while Blackmoor Wild Elf, I would give it a 2.7/5.
Wrap Up
I do think there are definitely nice and useful cards out of the pool of Soul Bound reward cards added. So let's continue to battle, clock more Glint, then start putting the cards into greater utility be it in ranked or even during brawl. I will continue to research and look at the others card and will share another 2 cards in the next post.
