Prelude
Good day to all, how are all of you doing? Hope all of you are doing good. I am back again to do another battle sharing with the community on some special and memorable matches that I encounter as I play Splinterlands. Today's sharing will be on a match that see me facing a very strong lineup that I've never encountered before. The lineup is led by a Level 2 Conqueror Jacek which is no easy to go up against.
Conqueror Jacek is a very strong summoner. You can see from the picture above, this is a summoner that makes it hard for us to plan where attacks land and not only that, the piercing means anything that is beyond what the armour can block will be felt by card health itself. The +2 speed also ensures that the lineup attack first.
With so many abilities stacked up against me, this is one match that really got me relooking at it to see how the whole match went.
So without further ado, let's head right on to the match proper.

Selection Analysis
Compared to most matches with a number of rulesets, this match only has 1 and only ruleset of Fire and Regret. Which means we should avoid using range attackers since there will be damage returned back to us.
In terms of my selection, I went for a Life Splinter magic lineup since the ruleset is very much against selecting a range lineup. Therefore I use the Chaos Legion Soul Bound conscript summoner whom gives an additional armour and put up a lineup that is anchored by effectively 2 tanks. One in the form of Drybone Barbarian whom will guard the front and Iziar whom has taunt and void to guard the backline. These two cards were planned to give us the necessary control in terms of where the attacks will land, Drybone to handle melee while Iziar to handle magic and ranged. I fielded a Dax Paragon due to mana balance. Next is Venari Spellsmith whom is there to debuff any Blood Lust that can happen. Following is the 2 healers, Meriput Magician and Spirit Hoarder. They both have a target to heal and ensure the cards stay healthy and keep the lineup safe.
When I saw Conquerer Jacek, I know what I planned will become a problem since the Scatter shot will just mess everything up. I will have no control in where the attacks will land. And leading the lineup is Coerul Lurker. This is one crazy card that is super strong, it sucks all the attacks towards it but contain dodge and phase to avoid getting hit. It is also having crazy so it is one tough card to take down. Following is Clockwork Aide to give an additional speed by swiftness. What I am surprised is that my opponent actually fielded 2 range attacker and both have switftness as well. This is going crazy and Countess Sinash is known to smash hard with opportunity. There is a filler in Scorch Fiend and the lineup ends with Doctor Blight whom is capable to poison and do affliction to render my healing not effective.
While I thought I had myself well prepared, looking at the lineup my opponent fielded, I know I am gonna face an uphill battle. Let's see how the match turn out.
Round by Round Synopsis
Round 1 - I felt like I was hitting air with almost every single not being able to hit. Only good thing was the return fire to my opponent range attackers whom health got reduced by quite a fair bit.
Round 2 - Countess Sinash started hitting and got killed by return fire. Attacks are still not hitting well from my side but Doctor Blight has now successfully poison my Iziar.
Round 3 - Tide is turning, Supply Runner got killed by return fire, further reducing the speed buff and with that, a opening was there for Drybone Barbarian and Spirit Hoarder to land the fatal blow onto Coeurl Lurker. Venari Spellsmith got poisoned. But the game looks very ready for us to land the victory.
Round 4, round started with Spellsmith being killed by poison but my 2 designated front and back tanks each took out one of the final 2 surviving cards on my opponent's lineup. Victory secured against a very strong lineup.
Battle Summary
The key turning point was when we manage to take out Coeurl Lurker. Otherwise that crazy phasing and dodging was a real difficult situation for us to face. I had a nice learning for this match.
Wrap Up
The lineup my opponent put up is real strong. If there wasn't the Fire and Regret ruleset, I would have been totally eradicated, thankfully of the ruleset I mange to even scrape past my opponent. So rule of the thumb is to plan the lineup properly with regards to the ruleset so as not to get self smashed by not following the ruleset.
