Social Media Challenge || Defeat Them Immediately Before It Gets More Dangerous

in Splinterlands7 days ago

Hi, everyone. Welcome to my post. In the Social Media Challenge, I will discuss anything about SPLINTERLANDS, it can be about cards, abilities, rulesets, battle reviews, End of Season results, or my playing experience.

In this post, I will share my experience dealing with an opponent using Olivia of the Brook who already has MIMIC ability.

Battle

The ruleset for this battle is WEAK MAGIC (Attacks from Magic units will hit ARMOR first), TARGET PRACTICE (all monsters in the arena receive an additional SNIPE ability), and BROKEN ARROWS (Range units cannot be used in this ruleset)

In the first round, Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus attacked Captain Katie and gave her a poison effect. Flying Squid and Arkemis the Bear attacked Imperial Knight and gave him a HALVING effect that halved his attack power. Venari Spellsmith targeted his attack at Pelacor Conjurer but he took damage to ARMOR from the counterattack by Pelacor Conjurer through MAGIC REFLECT ability.

All opposing units with Magic Attack (Pelacor Conjurer, Captain Katie, Olivia of the Brook, and Aves Sturgis) attack Baakjira. But the damage she received could be minimized thanks to her VOID ability. Because Olivia of the Brook has 2 types of attacks, she attacked Uraeus using a Melee Attack. Meanwhile, Imperial Knight damaged Arkemis the Bear's ARMOR.

At the start of the second round, Olivia of the Brook gained the BLIND ability by using her MIMIC ability. Captain Katie's health points were reduced because, in the previous round, she received a poison effect. Then she was immediately defeated by an attack from Pelacor Bandit. Uraeus damaged Olivia of the Brook's ARMOR.

Flying Squid damaged Imperial Knight's remaining ARMOR. Meanwhile, Arkemis the Bear and Imperial Knight failed to land attacks on each other. Venari Spellsmith returned to attack Pelacor Conjurer and took damage through MAGIC REFLECT.

Pelacor Conjurer, Olivia of the Brook, and Aves Sturgis attacked Baakjira but healed some of its own HP. Olivia of the Brook also attacks Venari Spellsmith using Melee Attack.

At the beginning of the third round, Olivia of the Brook again got a new ability through the MIMIC ability. this time what she got was the PROTECT ability which gave an additional 2 ARMOR to all units that were teammates with her. Pelacor Bandit attacked Olivia of the Brook. However, she managed to copy the only ability Pelacor Bandit had (FLYING ability), so she was able to dodge the attack by Uraeus.

Venari Spellsmith still attacks Pelacor Conjurer and takes damage via MAGIC REFLECT. Pelacor Conjurer, Olivia of the Brook, and Aves Sturgis attack Baakjira who can still defend by relying on the HEAL ability. Flying Squid and Arkemis the Bear attacked Imperial Knight but he failed to land an attack on Arkemis the Bear.

At the beginning of the fourth round, Olivia of the Brook got the HALVING ability. Unfortunately, this ability could not prevent her from losing due to an attack by Pelacor Bandit. Uraeus attacked and inflicted a poison effect on Aves Sturgis.

Flying Squid and Arkemis the Bear attacked Imperial Knight. Venari Spellsmith was defeated via MAGIC REFLECT after he attacked Pelacor Conjurer. In defeat, Venari Spellsmith used the REDEMPTION ability to deal 1 point of damage to all opposing units and made Imperial Knight lose due to this ability.

Pelacor Conjurer and Aves Sturgis attacked Baakjira. Meanwhile, Drybone Barbarian failed to land his attack on Arkemis the Bear.

image.png

In the fifth round, Aves Sturgis was defeated by attacks from Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus after having his HP reduced due to the poison effect he received in the previous round. Flying Squid and Arkemis the Bear attacked Drybone Barbarian and it gave him a HALVING effect even though he received a 150% increase in Melee attack and SPEED due to the effect of the ENRAGE ability.

Drybone Barbarian can only deal 1 point of damage because his extremely high Attack power can be dampened by one of Arkemis the Bear's abilities (FORCEFIELD ability). Pelacor Conjurer can only damage Baakjira's ARMOR.

In the last round, Pelacor Conjurer was defeated by Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus. Meanwhile, Drybone Barbarian was defeated by Flying Squid and Arkemis the Bear.

Battle Review

This battle could have been won by the opponent if I didn't bring 2 units that have SNEAK ability and didn't choose Baakjira that has VOID ability to receive every attack from the opponent's Magic units.

Captain Katie becomes one of the units that is quite troublesome if you don't prepare units that have high HP and VOID abilities. Because Captain Katie has a high enough Attack power that can immediately defeat Magic/Ranged/No-Attack units because she already has the SNIPE ability before the TARGET PRACTICE ruleset.

Although she hasn't reached her maximum level yet, Olivia the Brook has already become a unit that can be troublesome because of her MIMIC ability. This ability will mimic another ability belonging to one of the units on the other team. And if she is not defeated immediately, then Olivia of the Brook can gain more abilities (depending on how many abilities all units of the team she is fighting have and how many rounds she can last)

The 2 Magic units above are lucky to be instantly defeated by Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus before they become a more troublesome problem if left standing.

Weird they went with a Magic team in a weak Magic ruleset :) Great battle though!

He brought Aves Sturgis who has the RUST ability and he didn't think that I would use Kelya Frendul and Arkemis the Bear.
