Hello! to all members of the Splinterlands community. I'm @zactian. I'll write about my strategy and another weekly challenge, Battle Mage Secrets, in my blog today.
What Account Use
I'm using BLTZR-WIZARD-728. I'll share my main strategy in this straightforward but efficient likelihood of winning rule-set max-level cards in a modern format.
Shades of Gray is the challenge, only neutral units can be deployed in this battle, except summoner. Possisbilus the Wise, Immortalis, and Quix the Devious are a perfect combo for this.

Shades of Gray
INTO THE BATTLE:
Rule Set
- All units will gain Trample ability.
- All units have the ability of Scattershot.
- Only neutral units are playable and can deploy in this battle.
Recommended summoner to use the Shades of Gray rule set for this match:
I assume that the opponent will use the Magic attack strategy, where the opponent uses mainly magic units. Quix the Devious summoner is what I choose reducing opponent Range damage and speed by 1. The water element is also good and pick Possibilus the Wise for dominating in melee damage.
This is the basic lineup I came up with, Dragon element combo in Shades of Gray battle, though no element units are used in this battle except the summoner. I want to dominate the opponent in range Damage while assuming it hits opponent units at Rare and Common cards in range battle.
Note: I only have limited cards but they are useful in some rule sets and I will try my best to win with existing cards. So if you want a high chance of winning, I advise you to rent or buy useful or stronger cards for most rule sets.

My Lineup
First position - Gargoya Lion
- Acts as a tank in the first position, a best choice in this 25 mana cap rule set, a 6 mana cost with flying ability and Rage ability that has a high chance of missing incoming melee and range.
Second position - Chaos Agent
- I put this in second position as I assume that the opponent will use the snipe abilities unit and can be a second tank position because of Dodge and Phase which has a chance of missing incoming all types of attacks.
Third position - Uraeus
- Sneak attack melee unit with Poison ability that has a chance to apply to the opponent unit target.
Fourth position - Xenith Archer
- An extra range damage to fill up extra slot of my team compositions. 2 range damage, 4 speed, and 5 health.
Fifth position - Gem Meteor
- My team's main range damage is 4 range, 5 damage, 4 health, and with Piercing ability.
Last position - Doctor Blight
- My main range damage of my team which has 2 magic damage and a chance of applying poison to the enemy target, and useful Abilities like Affliction, Camouflage, Scavenger, and Weaken abilities.
Analyzing Battle
The opponent uses Immortalis Summoner, which I think the opponent expects that I would prioritize using magic damage Which is why this is the summoner it picks, this summoner is a good counter to magic attacks because of gives Void ability to its friendly units. From what I can see in the battle, it's quite the same speed but different damage for both teams. The opponent also gives a good lineup positioning of the units. Let's see in the battle because this match has an Aimless rule set and which luck dominates and wins by shot or hit.
Effective or not?
I dominate the opponent in damage difference because of the deployment and summoner of the unit. It's also a luck from an Aimless rule set where my Gem Meteor and Xenith Archer target opponent Uraeus. If the opponent has stronger units neutral or stronger summoners in the Shades of Gray rule set then I might lose in this battle, and also the battle positioning picking the right units and summoners.
