I'm zactian, and today I'll be covering and summary Splinterlands, a new rental feature. Splinterlands' Set Rentals function is a major development for the game's ecology and reflects a larger trend in the digital gaming industry towards flexibility and increased player interaction. This feature solves a typical problem in card games which I think for beginners who only start in the game and don't know how to rent in-game and for easy 1-click rent, to remain competitive, you need a variety of strong cards. Splinterlands lowers the entrance barrier for new players and allows experienced players to test out alternative tactics by enabling players to rent sets and access premium or strong cards.
Splinterlands also provides future additional rentals because as of now only starter cards are available.

Available Sets for Rent

As of now, Splinterlands offers the Chaos Legion Starter Set for rent. This set includes both the Chaos Legion Core and Non-Soulbond Reward cards. The game developers plan to introduce additional sets in the future, broadening the options for players. The minimum card levels for the Chaos Legion Starter Set are:

Level 3 Commons
Level 2 Rares
Level 2 Epics
Level 1 Legendaries

These levels are adjustable via the autofill setting, allowing players to customize the set according to their needs and preferences.

Rental Time Constraints

Set rentals in Splinterlands are available as Season Rentals, with specific constraints based on the timing within the season:

With 7 or More Days Left in the Season:

Season Rentals are active from the time of rental until the end of the current season.
Cancellations are allowed within this period.
With Fewer Than 7 Days Left in the Season:

Season Rentals remain active through the end of the current season and continue into the next season.
Cancellations are not possible until the specified season ends.
These constraints ensure that players have ample time to utilize the rented sets and incorporate them into their gameplay strategies.

Creating and Renting Sets

Creating and renting sets in Splinterlands is a straightforward process, guided by detailed instructions available on the Splinterlands website. To create a set, players can follow the provided guide, which walks them through the necessary steps to compile their desired cards into a cohesive set. Renting a set involves a similar process, with specific instructions outlined in the rental guide.

They also have Peakmonster (https://peakmonsters.com/decks?rentals=true), this website is what I'm currently renting with some stronger cards to grind in Modern Max level cards and Participate in Brawl Match.

Managing Sets

The management of sets is facilitated by the Manage toggle, which provides an overview of all sets a player has created, listed, or rented from others. This section offers several functionalities:

Viewing Sets: Players can view sets they’ve created but haven’t listed, sets that are currently listed, and sets they are renting from other players.
Editing Sets: Only sets that are not currently rented out can be edited. If a player wishes to edit a rented set, it must be delisted, and the rental period must finish. Detailed instructions in the editing guide explain how to retrieve or swap cards within a set.
Listing and Deleting Sets: Players can list their sets for rental or delete them if they are no longer needed.
Renewing Sets: Sets can be renewed for continued rental use.
Viewing Rental History: Players can access their rental history to keep track of their transactions.

This is only a summary of the given Splinterlands guide, you can visit in-game to explore more information and questions you have: https://support.splinterlands.com/hc/en-us/articles/28561829693204-Set-Rentals-FAQ

Comparing Peakmonster on this Set Rental Feature

In my experience, Peakmonster is way more organized and easy for me to locate a specific level I want to rent, the cost of cards, and the Cards I want to rent. While the in-game Set Rental is only good if you are in a lower league or only started on this game because of available cards are only Starter Pack. In the future maybe they will add more rental lists with just 1-click rental. Maybe Peakmonsters and in-game set rental will coordinate for a list of certain cards in the future.
By also offering flexible access to powerful cards and comprehensive management tools, Splinterlands empowers its players to engage more deeply with the game.
