Pirate Captain
What's up, Summoners!
A few hours left before the season ends and the same holds true for share your battle challenge. The featured monster for this week is Pirate Captain, a monster from Water Splinter.
Abilities - Snipe at Level 1 and Inspire at Level 6
LINE UP
Rules - Equal Opportunity & Explosive Weaponry
Mana Cap - 36
Available Splinters - Water, Earth, Life, and Death
TEAM COMPOSITION
Valnamor is my summoner for this battle. He gives additional Magic attack, Speed, and Health to my monsters.
My team is compose of monsters with Magic Damage and I saw from the previous battles of the enemy that there is a possibility that he or she will use Magic Monsters as well. So, I placed Furious Chicken in the first position to receive damage from the enemy.
Djinn Oshannus is in the second position to reduce damage from Magic attacks. In addition, with its Phase ability, there is a chance that magic attacks can miss and its 3 Magic Damage can be very helpful.
Another Legendary monster, but in Gold Foil is Phantom of the Abyss. Its Demoralize ability can be useful against melee monsters of the enemy. With its speed, flying, and dodge, he will be invisible from melee monsters, since there is a high chance that their attacks will miss.
Even though there is a possibility that the enemy will use magic monsters, I still pick Venari Wavesmith. Its protect ability is useless against magic attack, but it is a utility against melee and range monsters.
The snipe ability of Pirate Captain can do wonders, specially in blast rule. He has only 1 range attack, but with blast he can deal 3 damage.
Mischievous Mermaid is at the last position, because of its ability "Dodge" which is good against monsters with sneak ability.
Strategy?
My strategy is to showcase the power of Valnamor by using monsters with magic damage and include Pirate Captain and Furious Chicken to complete the lineup. Even though Pirate Captain was killed by Coral Wrath, it was a worthy sacrifice. It will be a different story if Phantom of the Abyss was the one receiving blast damage. It was a close fight, but the Armor provided by Venari Wavesmith was the game changer, because the attack of The Kraken applied to armor.
👍 or Not?
I like Pirate Captain, because it is a low mana card and has Snipe ability at Level 1. I prefer magic monsters than anti-magic, so I rarely use Pirate Captain.
I hope you enjoyed the battle. Till next time 👋👋👋
