Cleaning is supposed to make things cleaner but sometimes that's not the case; This image proves it.
This is what it looks like when I clean my handguns. Yes, believe it or not there is a handgun there somewhere, obviously torn down for cleaning. You can also see a cleaning rod, a couple brushes, cotton-tips, solvent, air in a can and cleaning patches...Plus some associated drops of dirty solvent: The by-product of the cleaning process.
I do this every time I shoot my hand guns. OK, that's a lie...Sometimes I get lazy, but usually I clean my guns after every time I shoot them. OK, that's a lie. If I put enough rounds through my handguns, say 150+ then I'll clean them. Honest truth this time!
I took this photo thinking I may use it for a post about gun cleaning or some such thing, but looking at it a little later and it struck that it sort of resembles steem at the moment doesn't it?
A mess I mean.
Of course, it can be put back together and when it is it'll be sparkling clean and ready to perform...The gun I mean.
Steem though?
Well, I believe it could be shiny and new. Could be rebuilt, and could be ready to perform...But that's all out of my hands. I'm a passenger, like the rest of us.

It requires some affirmative action by those in the position to take that action...
But I'm afraid that those people (person?) will only look after themselves; Lining ones' pocket may be more important than caring what a community of dedicated and passionate people like us steemians want or need. It's the same old story.
Anyway, I've got a life outside of steem and it will go on regardless what happens on the blockchain...The problem is that I really enjoy it here and don't want it to stop. I like it here and want it to endure. But will it, and can it?
You may have noticed I've continued to post at the same rate as always, and haven't skimped on words; No one could ever accuse me of brevity. Whilst I feel disappointed I also feel that whilst it is here I'm going to use it.
I decided, as soon as all of this played out (after a moment of intense anger and disappointment) that I'm going to keep going until I can't, because I enjoy it. I'd be exposed as a fraud if I did anything else right? And I am anything but a fraud.
I know I'm not the only one who feels this way and I hope more people get back on steem and start posting again...Those of you who enjoy it I mean. Things may change in the future, but let's not allow others to dictate the behaviours and actions we take for ourselves huh?
The thing with mess is that it can be cleaned up...Yes, even the mess that was made of steem...I just wonder if it will. I understand those who feel it's not worth posting here anymore, but I respect those who are here anyway, posting good content, engaging with others and denying those who wish to control them.
Quitting isn't in my nature and it's been the bane of some people's existence that I don't...I'm pretty tenacious, possibly to the point of stupidity some may argue...But tenacity, endurance and perseverance runs down to my core...I'm stubborn like that...And wear that like a badge of merit.
Don't leave quietly, stay loudly.
