The building that you visit dates back to 1634, so it functioned at first as a convent that also had a library, cells, nursing area, area for teaching Latin. For the year 1892 by presidential decree it would be decided that this building would function as the University of Valencia, currently University of Carabobo that would close in 1904 again by presidential decree, then in 1958 it would function again as the University of Carabobo in which the faculty of political and legal sciences is established so it is generally associated as "the faculty of law" at present because until 2002 it functioned as a law school.
The building of eclectic style, has undergone transformations to accommodate the house of studies of Valencia, so they had to close certain accesses, build another floor and change the floor of the enclosure. The establishment has a central courtyard and due to its new function, it changes to the current style. In addition, since 2021 it has recently become the headquarters of the relic of the Venezuelan Blessed José Gregorio Hernández in Valencia.
