Hello internet people! I hope you are well. Today I bring to you my opinion about the DLC of Outlast, a game brought by the hand of Red Barrels, a developer of games like Left 4 Dead and whose review I will bring soon.
Outlast is a new school survival horror game (more action, less puzzels), it has a simple inventory as well as its controls and few cinematics, which makes the gameplay more dynamic.
In this one, we return to the interior of the mental asylum, Mount Massive, this time as a patient, in the shoes of the Korean Wylon Park (and I am not imagining that it is Korean, the surname Park, is Korean).
Wylon Park y su familia/Wylon Park and his family
Este DLC me gustó incluso más que el juego principal porque a mi parecer, tiene variantes que en sí, generan más miedo.
I liked this DLC even more than the main game because in my opinion, it has variants that generate more fear.
Apartado gráfico/Graphic section..
It is the same graphics engine as its predecessor part. It is not a rough stone in terms of graphics but what there is, it is very well done. The effects of the night vision of the camera fascinate me and the sound effects, those screams in the distance, the sound of Wylon's bare feet. It's actually so well done that it puts the player into a pretty good immersive experience.
Jugabilidad, controles y soundtrack/Gameplay, controls and soundtrack.
The controls are the same as in the prequel. They are dynamic and flowing. We can observe behind us while we run, peek around corners to see if there is danger, hide under beds and lockers and we have the action button that allows us to take items and perform actions such as holding a cornice.
The gameplay of this saga is quite dynamic, the camera is in the first person, which makes the process of immersing the player in the story almost perfect and that there are no vision jams by the player, which is a great success because How many times have they killed us in a video game because of the bad position of the camera that didn't allow us to see our character properly? Point in favor for Outlast.
The soundtrack for its part is quite good, that stressful chase music that is activated when some violent variant watch us, it is great and Eddie Gluskin singing to us is the best to make the hair stand on end.
Enjoy his soothing voice.
Variantes/Variants.
Let's start with the most interesting of the game, the chilling mental patients of Mount Massive
Frank Manera.
Frank cenando/Frank having dinner
This variant really gives us the creeps. He is a dangerous cannibal who is armed with a chainsaw and who is looking for us for his dinner, I think there is not much more to say.
Eddie Gluskin (El Novio)/(The Groom).
A man with severe disorders caused by constant sexual abuse by his father and uncle. He is a serial killer with keen intelligence.
He is mentally unstable, he was sentenced to confinement in the Mount Massive mental hospital belonging to the infamous Murkoff corporation and he was forced to participate in the Walrider project.
Primer vistazo cercano a Eddie Gluskin/
First close look at Eddie Gluskin
His first interaction with Park is through a closed door where he says his iconic phrase "Darling", causing us a great scare and is that he looks extremely chilling looking at us with that crazy face and blowing kisses.
Eddie mirando a Wylon a través de las puertas del ascensor/Eddie looking at Wylon through the elevator doors
And from that infamous moment he will not stop harassing us to make us "his wife" and it is that Gluskin has a distorted vision of a happy family (due to the lack of a warm home), so he is looking for the ideal woman.
Mutilación de Gluskin al cuerpo de un paciente para simular un «alumbramiento»/Gluskin mutilation of a patient's body to simulate a "childbirth"
But Gluskin can't find the right woman in the hospital because it's for male patients only, so Eddie decides to make a "girl" for him...

Honestly, I never felt so much terror in a video game as when I felt harassed and persecuted by this guy who was singing his Jazz version of "I want a girl" while laughing sarcastically at us and as his performance progresses you can hear him go unbalancing even more.
In my personal opinion, this is the best villain of the entire series and I would say that of all the survival horror video games that I have played. His execution, history and psychological profile is very well made. He prefers psychological "torture" more than physical.
The greatest torture while we hide and he is quietly looking for us while singing, is to think about the atrocities that he is going to do to us, and the more we manage to hide, the more the psychological terror is perpetuated.
Outlast is a game that partially revolutionized the genre most loved by us Gamers, Survival Horror, and without a doubt, it has set precedents for other franchises.
Tell me what your favorite part of this game is and what part of the trilogy (what goes from Outlast) you like the most.
