It has been a tradition for years to organize ourselves to teach children to sing and play musical instruments, organizing ourselves in a choir of children and adults in my community on January 23 in Maracay-Venezuela, this was one of the activities that I enjoyed the most as a child. , and now this tradition has passed to my daughter, who, since last year has been interested in participating in these activities, becoming a source of pride for me and even more so when I have the opportunity to participate together with her and encourage her to continue these kinds of traditions.
In previous years, presentations were made only to neighbors and before the COVID-19 pandemic at midnight masses in the church near our community. However, this year we decided to bring part of this happiness to the children of the RENHACER Children's and Adult Rehabilitation Center, which has been doing extraordinary social work, providing medical care in solidarity to children and adults who suffer from any disease. motor disabilities, learning disabilities or injuries and who are in therapy.
Entre las actividades que pudimos compartir estuvieron por supuesto los cantos navideños tradicionales de la música venezolana, el coro canto las tradicionales gaitas zulianas, parrandas, aguinaldos, villancicos y hasta canciones icónicas de navidad de las agrupaciones, Billos Caracas Boys y Los Melódicos, lograron poner a bailar a muchos niños y adultos con todas esas hermosas melodías; canciones como “Mi Burrito Sabanero”, “Tun tun, ¿Quién es? Gente de paz…”, “La Grey Zuliana”, “Corre Caballito”, “Alegre Vengo Cantando”, entre otras canciones del repertorio de canciones tradicionales venezolanas.
Among the activities that we were able to share were of course the traditional Christmas songs of Venezuelan music, the choir sang the traditional gaitas zuliana, parrandas, aguinaldos, Christmas carols and even iconic Christmas songs of the groups, Billos Caracas Boys and Los Melódicos, they managed to put to dance to many children and adults with all those beautiful melodies; songs like “Mi Burrito Sabanero”, “Tun tun, ¿qué es? gente de paz… ”,“ La Gray Zuliana ”,“ Corre Caballito ”,“ Alegre Vengo Cantando ”, among other songs from the repertoire of traditional Venezuelan songs.
The food could not be absent, cakes, tequeños, hot dogs, gingerbread cookies, millefeuille, nougat, jelly, gypsy arms, among other sweets and desserts that we could enjoy.
Fun and entertainment were also part of the evening, face painting for the children, an inflatable castle and a beautiful cheerleader who made us sweat with multiple games, I had to participate in some to win prizes for my children. One of the most beautiful things to be able to play with our children and share with them
At the end, Santa Claus arrived, full of gifts for the children that we could see smiling and full of emotion with the innocence of their age and full of happiness for all the joyful and fun moments they lived. This in my view is the best medicine and therapy for these children, but also for us because it makes our souls great and fills us with emotion to be able to give joy to others.
I want these initiatives to be multiplied in my country, because despite the difficulties there is nothing more beautiful than bringing joy to children and beyond the celebrations of the dates, the true meaning of Christmas is to share love with the like.
