Por culpa de la cabra / Because of the goat
Papá tenía una cabra. Mamá cinco hijos. Papá me llevaba con él, un mes sí, un mes no. El mes que me tocaba con papá, la cabra era mía. El mes que me tocaba con mamá, la cabra era de papá. Cuando iba a casa de papá, llegaba con la boca seca; cuando regresaba a casa de mamá, llegaba con la boca blanca. Mamá se molestaba porque, mi mes con papá, me ponía barrigón de pura leche; ella me miraba y miraba a mis hermanos, y en el afán de eliminar las desigualdades de barrigas, me dijo que le dijera a papá que, si quería tenerme el próximo mes, debía aceptarme con mis hermanos.
Now we're the same way, skinny and no dad, and it's all because of the goat. Dad had a goat. Mom had five children. Dad took me with him, every two months. The month it was my turn with Dad, the goat was mine. The month it was my turn with mom, the goat was dad's. When I went to Dad's house, I arrived with a dry mouth; when I went back to Mom's house, I arrived with a white mouth. Mom got mad because, the month it was my turn with Dad, I had a pure milk belly; she looked at me and looked at my brothers, and in an effort to eliminate belly inequalities, she told me to tell Dad that, if he wanted to have me the next month, to take me in with my brothers.
Papá por supuesto dijo que no. Quería mucho a la cabra. Mamá le mandó a decir que como ese mes la cabra era mía, que me la mandara. Papá volvió a decir que no. Mamá fue y puso la denuncia, quería que un mes la cabra estuviera con papá y un mes con ella.
─La justicia llega, pero no madruga –dijo el comisario, –tráiganla que mientras el asunto no esté claro, permanecerá bajo mi resguardo.
Dad, of course, said no. He loved the goat very much. Mom sent him word that since the goat was mine that month, to send it to me. Dad again said no. Mom went and filed a complaint, she wanted the goat to be one month with Dad and one month with her.

La cabra llevaba sesenta madrugadas con la justicia, el mismo tiempo que papá no volvió a llevarme y que mamá dejó de fijarse en las desigualdades de sus hijos; todos estábamos flacos. Papá se fue e hizo huelga de hambre para ver si la justicia le regresaba la cabra. Mamá se fue con sus hijos a protestar para que la justicia le inclinara la balanza a su favor.
The goat had been with justice for sixty dawns, the same time that Dad never took me again and that Mom stopped noticing her children's inequalities; we were all skinny. Dad left and went on hunger strike to see if justice would give him back his goat. Mom went with her children to protest so that justice would tip the scales in her favor.
La justicia no dio la cara, que cada vez la tenía más blanca; tampoco dio la barriga, que cada vez la tenía más grande. A la cabra tampoco la pusieron a dar ni la cara ni nada.
Papá no dio más huelgas ni mamá más protestas y la justicia declaró inocente a la cabra, dijeron que la soltarían, que en cuestión de horas todo sería diferente.
Justice did not show her face, which was getting whiter and whiter; nor did she show her belly, which was getting bigger and bigger. The goat did not show its face or anything else.
Dad did not give more strikes nor mom more protests and justice declared the goat innocent, they said they would release it, that in a matter of hours everything would be different.
Al parecer hubo una cosa fea, golpearon a la justicia. La justicia se defendió. La cabra se llevó la peor parte, perdió la cabeza. Papá fue por los restos. La justicia no explicó que la revuelta fue sangrienta, entregó la evidencia, el cuero, las patas y las tripas. Dijeron que llegarían al fondo del asunto.
Papá me dejó sin el mes con él. Mamá me dejó sin el habla, dice que papá debió llevarle la cabra, y ya.
Ahora todos somos iguales, flacos y no tenemos papá, y todo por culpa de la cabra.
Apparently something ugly happened, they beat up the justice. The commissioner defended himself. The goat got the worst of it, he lost his head. The father went for the remains. Justice did not explain to him that the riot was bloody, they gave him the evidence: skin, feet and guts. They said they would get to the bottom of it.
Dad left me without the month with him. Mom stopped talking to me; she says Dad should have taken the goat to her and that's it.
Now we're the same way, skinny and no dad, and it's all because of the goat.

Jajaja, una parodia de la corrupción policial y las riñas familiares. Y la única que no tuvo la culpa fue la cabra jajajaja. Creo que le puedes poner la etiqueta de humor.
