Hace poco tuve la oportunidad de visitar uno de los lugares más mágicos que he conocido en toda mi vida, la verdad es que por muy increíble que suene... nunca había conocido la Colonia Tovar. Para los que somos venezolanos y amantes a los viajes, sabemos que este pequeño pueblito ubicado en la zona montañosa del estado Aragua siempre debe estar en el radar simple de cualquier aventurero.
I recently had the opportunity to visit one of the most magical places I have ever known in my life, the truth is that as incredible as it may sound ... I had never known Colonia Tovar. For those of us who are Venezuelans and travel lovers, we know that this small town located in the mountainous area of the Aragua state should always be on the simple radar of any adventurer.
Cabe destacar que este viaje cómo todas las aventuras, estaba en mi mente pero no fué hasta un día antes de irme que estuvo decidido del todo. Literalmente por mi mente sólo se pasaba la frase que decía "si tienes el dinero y las ganas ve y disfrutalo" y no necesite más que esto para partir al día siguiente con todos mis miedos y temores a conocer este tan mágico lugar. Debo destacar también que era primera vez que me iba por mis propios medios, y tampoco viaje sólo. La verdad es que más allá de la emoción que causa conocer un lugar nuevo, también fui por el puro y divino placer de la compañía de una muy apreciada amiga, quien tampoco conocía La Colonia Tovar.

Así sin más nos fuimos, fué tanta la premura que olvidé algunas cosas importantes, y cuando digo importantes eran más que esenciales para la protección personal y física que debe tener cualquier persona cuando se va a someter al cuerpo a cambios de temperaturas a las que no se está acostumbrado, sí... dejé mi sueter. Tomamos un bus desde San Juan de los Morros (lugar de residencia) que nos llevó a La Victoria y seguidamente tomamos camino en otro autobus rumbo a La pequeña Alemania.

No fué hasta cuando ibamos subiendo, que por cuestiones de altura y clima, mi frase motivacional del viaje sería "no está haciendo tanto frío" y la verdad es que si hacia un frío muy fuerte, más sin embargo es mucho más soportable que el frío del páramo merideño por ejemplo. A medida que íbamos subiendo se hacía lucir cada vez más la arquitectura particular alemana, los sembradíos de frutas y hortalizas, y pare de contar beneficios de las tierras altas para la germinación de ciertas frutas que no son posibles en el clima tropical de la calurosa ciudad.

La variedad en su gastronomía es sin duda excepcional fresas con crema, galletas, alfajores, embutidos típicos alemanes, frutos como la mora, el melocotón, mermeladas debo destacar también la cerveza artesanal Coloniera es algo que sin duda no pueden dejar de probar.

En cuánto a la arquitectura, debo decir que es particularmente fascinante, sobre todos las estructuras que aun conservan el estilo colonial original, que tienen especie de de maderas que atraviesan las estructuras, sirviendo como soporte para las mismas. Entre estas hermosas que conservan la esencia original, podemos destacar las Iglesias y algunos que otros restautantes o cafetines, al igual que ciertas casas y cabañas. Puede que los materiales hayan ido variando por distintos factores, pero lo que si se mantiene son las costumbres y el calor de su gente.

Si me preguntan ¿que fué lo mejor de la Colonia Tovar? fácil, puedo decir que despertarme con la increíble y hermosa vista que tenía desde el balcón de la cabaña dónde me quedé, sin duda puedo decir que fué mágico. Y creo que muy pocas veces en la vida me sentí tan vivo cómo en ese viaje. Mi mensaje es para esos jóvenes que no se atreven a salir de sus casas a hacer el viaje que tanto han querido hacer, váyanse y escapen. Al final de todo lo que más vale es la experiencia vivida y eso, créanme que no se los van a quitar jamás, porque las cosas que vivimos son las verdaderamente nuestras...
If you ask me, what was the best thing about Colonia Tovar? easy, I can say that waking up with the incredible and beautiful view that I had from the balcony of the cabin where I stayed, without a doubt I can say that it was magical. And I think that very few times in my life did I feel as alive as on that trip. My message is for those young people who do not dare to leave their homes to make the trip that they have wanted to do so much, go and escape. At the end of everything, what is most valuable is the lived experience and that, believe me, they will never take them away, because the things we live are truly ours ...
