Surfing in Siargao

Avisala!

One of the reasons why tourists flock to Siargao is because of surfing. Aside from the island's laidback vibe, the community built around surfing has been remarkable. Of course, when we had our chance to visit Siargao last December 7-11, 2023, we didn't miss our chance to try riding the waves of paradise, as Ser Arc (@kev.incredible) had called it. It was our first major activity on the island, as we anticipated it would require a lot of energy. Indeed, even if the activity is just an hour for Php 700.00, it was one of the most strenuous moments of my life. But it was a hundred times more fun!

I was expecting a lot of cuts and bruises from the fall off the surfboard, but I had no cuts or bruises. Many of my friends who tried surfing said you would fall many times and be cut and bruised by the sharp rocks; it didn't happen to us. As long as you fall correctly, there will be no issues.

I thought it would be very difficult to balance on a surfboard, but I was able to stand on my first try. We just followed the instructions of our guides and all of us were able to stand. We had a great time and even got very competitive. Let me just warn you that one hour is more than enough for you to get really tired. No wonder surfers are very fit.

I guess that's all! Enjoy the video!

Sana all marunong mag surf .
You sure are enjoying your life ☺️.. Dami na experiences..

Akala ko talaga mahirap sha. Pero pagstart pa lang ni @kev.incredible nakakatayo sha agad. Naging competitive lahat kaya ayon, di naman sha ganon kahirap basta marunong ka lang magbalance.

You sure are enjoying your life

Di naman masyado! We only live once kaya try natin lahat hangga't kaya pa ng buto. Darating ang araw na kahit maglakad mahihirapan na tayo kaya enjoy life while we can. Pero thanks to Hive talaga to lahat.

Kaya nga noh. Laking tulong ang Hive.
Gusto ko rin itry yang surfing, freediving, etc.. Someday ☺️

For sure, magagawa mo rin yan someday.

This looks super fun though
If you fall the right way 😅😅
And the waters look cool too

It was super fun! And exhausting. 😆

The crystal clear waters here in the Philippines are an attraction themselves.

I would so love to travel here though
It looks to be super fun

It must have been a great experience. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Indeed it was! Glad that a drone pilot documented us and sold us the videos for a reasonable price.

How nice. Here in Cuba there are no waves to surf. But it sure would be a lovely experience.

Whooooa, @ybanezkim26

You did the next level of enjoying the sea. Thanks for sharing with us.

True! To more adventures in the sea this year!

Woahhhh! I really wanted to try surfing sir @ybanezkim26 pero matakutin akong tao lalo na, di ako marunong lumangoy🥹

You don't have to learn how to swim. It's just in a very shallow part of the sea.

Visit Dahican, Kim! It's a good surfing spot pud minus the crowd!

Woah! Is this in Mati? Always wanted to visit Mati. Maybe this year.

What a dream! I always wanted to learn how to surf! Thank you for sharing!

Another ticked off bucket list! It was really not that difficult as I would have thought.

That looks like so much fun and it is impressive that you could stand up on your first try!

It was so much fun! It's not that impressive because almost all of my friends were also able to stand on their first try.

Happy New Year, @xsasj!

Wow! Siargao, you made me feel medyo inggit again as this is also in my bucket list!

You should visit! It's a different world out there.

Sana all!!!! I want to go on a trip to different places in the Philippines.
