I think there has been in general quite a lack in crypto in general. I have noticed D tube also going down in active users too. For myself, I been quite busy with the music to really update here to much. My posts can be quite hit or miss. I can get some decent rewards and 'likes' here if the algo picks it up and sometimes not a peep. I think I should probably put together some content but it seems a musician these days everyone is just after content haha. I hope to see more music here I think for indie artists more ways to share their music would be really beneficial for a lot of people. The trouble is just getting them over to the crypto side so to speak. Maybe it's just the complexity of creating account and understanding how this all works

Hive does not have an algorithm as such. You have to build your followers and/or make use of communities to get seen. There are some music contests too.
Some people are not so keen on Dtube as they had a split with Hive after getting lots of support. I think some of that was down to personality clashes, but then we have some strong opinions here on how things should be done.
I think there is potential to build up Hive as a place for musicians. It has some unique features that means fans can support and artist without directly sending them money. We also have the @risingstargame that is built around music and musicians.
Have fun.
