We continue to monitor the top Hive earners by category. Hive has multiple methods to distribute inflation that helps its token distribution and stay decentralized. With the addition of the HBD savings interest there is now a total of six ways the inflation on Hive is distributed: authors, curators, staking, witness, DHF and HBD interest.
Image background generated with Midjoureny
Here we will be looking at the overall inflation distribution for HIVE, looking at the following
- Authors rewards
- Curators rewards
- Witnesses rewards
- DHF/DAO rewards
- HBD interest
- Cumulative rewards
Top Authors
Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive authors that earned the most in the month.
Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on VESTS to HIVE, for simplification. Also some of the top beneficiaries like the hbdstabilizator, reward.app and 3speak are excluded.
I have made a breakdown in the author and beneficiary rewards.
Author rewards are one of the most know in the blockchain as a lot of users are attract for them.
@oflyhigh is on the top followed by @erikah and @tarazkp.
There are around 8.1k accounts that have received rewards in November 2023. The median payout is 15 HIVE, while the is around 82 HIVE.
Top Curators
Here is the chart for the top 20 Hive curators that earned the most in the month.
@appreciator is on the top here, followed by @alpha and @ocdb.
The accounts above are the biggest curators on the Hive blockchain. Hope they will do a great job in curating and making this place grow.
Top Witnesses
The top witnesses’ earnings charts look like this.
I have included more than 20 accounts in this chart to show the drop in earnings after the 20th spot. The top 20 are earning around the same amount of HIVE (HP), around 10k per month.
There seems to be a healthy competition among witness now, especially around the 20th spot.
The DHF/DAO Payouts
Accounts that received funding from the DHF/DAO in the period.
DHF workers are paid in HBD, and the numbers above are in HBD.
A total of 19 accounts received funding in November 2023.
The @valueplan account is on the top here followed by @fund.dbuzz, @keychain, @peak.open, @leofinance, @vsc.network etc.
Note on the special @hbdstabilizer. I have excluded this account from the here, since it is dominant on the top, with almost 624k HBD received in the month, but since technically it’s not keeping those funds, it is excluded from the list.
Top HBD Interest Earners
Here is the chart.
The @lazy-panda is on the top here with almost 20k HBD, followed by @newsflash and @alpha.
Top Earners Cumulative
From the data above we can compile the payout for a single ranking on overall top earners on the Hive blockchain in November 2023.
Here is the chart.
Note: These are not totally accurate numbers because there is a conversion on HBD to HIVE implemented, and VESTS to HIVE, for simplification.
I have separated the different earnings for the top accounts accordingly.
The @valueplan account is on the top, followed by @appreaciator, @alpha, @blocktrades, @fund.dbuzz and @lazy-panda.
Mostly DHF and curation accounts on the top, but some HBD interest accounts as well.
All the best

This is awesome data. I can gather from this that the best ways to earn on the blockchain are by tapping into the DHF Fund, being a witness, and curating. Writing blog posts seems to be the least rewarding activity.
I think they require significantly different levels of resources... being a witness and tapping into the DHF fund really do require you to be very well known and trusted on the Hive blockchain, it's really hard for new people to get traction even if they have some really good ideas.
Earning by curation is much easier, but you really do need significant Hive Power to really earn this way.
Writing blog posts requires the fewest resources and popularity, and while being popular does help, there are services that specifically look for good posts created by people who don't regularly get a lot of votes.
All of that is true. Great insight. I was just responding to that one chart that shows who the top earners are from all earning sources. Of course, all of them are big accounts so it bears to reason that the biggest earners are going to be those with the largest HP reserves.
Another thing that impacts these earnings, I think, is that many of these accounts with large HP reserves are time constrained. Because they're popular and busy doing other things like running witness nodes, developing dapps, etc., they have less time for authoring posts.
+1
thanks as always for this interesting and useful data and analysis
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 41/51) Liquid rewards.
Statistics are very interesting! Witnessing or curating is a priority, but for those who are at the beginning of the journey, these posts can be a starting point. It is possible to get help from the hive itself and progress with stair progress. These graphs tell me that I should start from the first step, that is, the same posts with small votes. This means that everyone can start from scratch with the help of the hive itself! It's a wonderful world for people with no capital and a flip that starting is always the first step!👍
Thanks for the great overview Dalz!
Excellent statistics as well as beautiful analysis of positions and conditions in chart form. Congratulations to everyone at Top Label.
tnx!
Sweettt, made it to top-20

Thank you for the overview
I hope I grow big enough to be on this list someday
Wow, I amazed how some people manage to earn so much.😱
Congrats to you all, I hope that one day I will be in top 100 😆
Thank you for giving us this wonderful update
Will you tell me what percentage of rewards makes it past the first 100 takers?
IF 50% goes to the first 20, what does the first 100 get?
What is left for the other ~10k of us playing daily?
Thanks for showing how the best are at the top
why the same people are on the top?
