Is it possible that I am here again, in the Museum Community, so soon after my last post on the subject? Well, that's how it is when the cultural centre, where I went for coffee today, had a small collective exhibition. The exhibition is called A Sea of Encounters and it presents a selection of works by the following artists: Carmela García, Manuela Gómez, Paqui González, Alfonso Guillén, María J. Kaspers, Pepi Martínez, Bippan Norberg, Olga Reinoso, Julia Serrano and Cecilia Vicedo.

It is organized by the association Crearte and can be visited until January 13.

I found out that this association that brings together people with artistic interests was founded in 2008, and that they meet twice a week to paint and help each other improve. It is open to everyone, it doesn't matter if you are a professional painter or just like to paint as a hobby. I suppose they paint as a need to express themselves, as it happens with all arts, however, these paintings can also be purchased. Some of them already had the price tag and the painter's phone number.

The techniques used in these paintings were mainly acrylic or oil on canvas, but there were also some collages and mixed methods. I will go through the exhibition hall from left to right.

The first section of three works was created by Olga Reinoso. The technique is a mixture of her writings, collage and painting on canvas. The names of the paintings from left to right are: Venganza en la fosa (Revenge in the pit), Algodón de azúcar (Cotton candy) and Cuando digo mi nombre (When I say my name).

The artist Carmela García brought these three Bellezas de color (Beauties of colour). At first, I just saw the pretty women and thought they were just paintings. When I got closer I noticed that it was mixed techniques because look at the details I found. They had their own earrings and necklaces.

What era would you return to through this painting? Maybe we would go back one hundred years in time... Well, yes, Cecilia Vicedo named this scene Bel época (Belle Époque or Beautiful Era). My mom has a photo of my great-grandmother when she was young, from the beginning of the 20th century. This painting reminded me of her and that photo.

Nature can't be missing from a collective exhibition, right? And how great, as nature is a source of inspiration and beauty. Alfonso Guillén brought us these fresh scenes called (from left to right) Cala de las cuevas (Cove of the caves), Improvisto, Colores de los fiordos (Colours of the fjords).

If nature is present, why not see animals too? María Jose Kaspers left these three paintings Untitled (Sin título). Hmm... let me think, I would name the first one - Jump to Freedom, the giraffe... Temptation, and the parrot - Enjoying the Sunset.

How would you call them?

Let's travel to... maybe Japan? Thanks to Julia Serrano we can enjoy activities like Walking around the city (Paseando por la ciudad), we can cross a bridge under The Cherry Trees (Los cerezos) or maybe see a Warrior in the city (Guerrero en la ciudad).

My favourite from this section is the Cherry Trees.

If you fancy going to the beach these days then it is easy to do it through the works of Pepi Martínez. Whether you want to spend your time Diving (Buceando) or Watching the sea (Mirando al mar), you are in the right place to do it. In this exhibition hall!

Paquita Gónzales, the author of these two ladies left them without title... We can do another round of the name-giving game haha, I will just call them Blooming Ladies.

Oh, we are back to the sea... For good reason, the exhibition is called A Sea of Encounters, we close this little tour with these three paintings of Bippan Norberg. A nice Sunrise, by the Little Island and then always we are back to the city. Encounters of all kinds, as life itself.

Art for sure needs a lot of creativity and indeed these are doing quite well. I love the two female characters wrapped in flowers too! 😇

Bonita exposición! Que bueno ver las personas unidas para crear arte.....

Como tú lo haces, con y para arte ;)

Nice and interesting exhibition, I liked the one of the family looking at the sea, contemplating the horizon, perhaps it expresses the longing for something beyond it. Your photos are also very good. Thank you friend. A hug.🤗🥰

Good morning @mamani. Thank you for pointing out that painting, the family, the sea, the gaze... that one also gives the feeling of hope, right? Espero están bien, Papaenzo también. Mis padres estaban bastante enfermos, los dos, con fiebre pero ahora ya van mejorando. Muchas gracias por venir a esta exhibición, un abrazo de vuelta y feliz fin de semana!! 🌺

I hope your parents are doing better, I'll keep an eye on them. This changeable weather is making us sick and we have to take care of ourselves. Keep them warm. A nice Sunday @mipiano. 🤗🥰❤️❤️❤️

Aww, your post reminded me of the times when I was a regular at art exhibitions. Love these paintings.
Unfortunately, since I'm actively trading, my schedule is pretty tight 🙁

Museums and exhibitions will be always around, the focus is now on the important stuff! 😉 I do understand the tight schedule, This visit also happened in a break of 45 minutes I had. Work before and work after 😂

You have weaved your magic, those images are really dmn good, there are some really good bits of art too. Love the one of the swimmer and a special mention to Carmela, now that is really clever adding real objects to het portraits , round of applause !!

Waving magic? 😁 Nah, we just entered the artistic world, so yeah... maybe there happened something 😂

Carmela and adding real objects - should I suggest (first I should contact her haha) painting musicians and then adding real musical instruments? That would be really cool but would work just with smaller instruments, imagine a piano glued to a painting lol 😁

nice idea about the instruments, maybe take it further and glue the pianist to the painting too! This is getting to surreal for a Sunday Morning!

Hi @mipiano. When I saw the photos and before reading, I said to myself that I know that place 😁. It seems to me a very good idea that artists meet in a project related to art. With no other pretension than to express themselves, share experiences and learn from each other. I especially liked Paquita Gónzales and her faces, which I will not name. And I imagine that exposing the work and showing it in public must be a very special moment.

Thank you very much for showing us this exhibition.

Hello @enraizar, good evening.

Yes, you know the place, you visited it a month ago with a different exhibition 😉. I also like those two from Paquita, with lively colours 😀

Good morning @mipiano, and happy weekend.

Good morning and feliz fin de semana 👋

That's cool, I mean meeting each and helping each other to improve. No competition or what, it's just pure love of arts. And their arts are all beautiful, they all have their techniques and different style and it's cool to see different techniques if arts in one exhibits. So lucky of you to discover them. I especially like that pieces of Carmela García, with those real jewelries attached on the arts. It's cool and the concept is unique too. I mean, they are all pretty and unique and for sure the effort they put in each piece is so much too ✨✨.

I am sure that the people going to these meetings have a great time, and they learn and motivate each other. What beautiful results, right? :)

At first, I didn't notice the jewellery but when yes I loved those details a lot 😀

Painting is an excellent method of expression and above all the perfect excuse to share with other people. A lot of color adorning those walls, but I'll take the work "Bel Época", I loved it. Thanks 🤗.

True, it is great to have meetings to paint and spend time with like-minded people. Bel época - sweet and coquette one 😋

I am impressed by this dead art! First of all the room is great, well lit and white!!! Which adds space. And then the quality of the works, especially those with materials other than paint.

I thought I'd choose one of the sea, but I chose this picture! It's great!😍

Good choice, I also like them a lot. Probably my favourite ones from here. They are wrapped in flowers... as someone surrounded by jellyfish 😉

They look alike right hahaha I love it!!!!😍

siiii

Cómo está tu mamá?

Va muy lento, pero al menos deja que le coloque la crema, masajes jajaja es una mujer muy activa y no se queda quieta. Me cuesta use la muleta. Se desinflama lento pero creo que va bien... Ayer mientras pintaba... me daba mate jajaja

Gracias!!!

Ayer mientras pintaba... me daba mate jajaja

😆

I like the most the paintings of Paquita Gonzalez but I like a lot the nice touch of Carmela Garcia when she go beyond the two dimensions with those earrings and necklaces, thanks for sharing this beautiful exihibition , señorita mi piano de los museos 😹

I think that the Paquita paintings are winning here, oh and the earrings and necklace details were a very nice surprise.

de los museos 😹

😂😂

All the paintings here are lovely and interesting. The two pictures of a lady authored by Gonzales seem very realistic. For me, I will name it "The Island Girls". Thanks for sharing these paintings.

And thank you for also giving a name, a fantastic, flowery island where they might live hehehe. 😇

Too lovely for those two beautiful ladies in the paintings.

Defintely unique and cool that real things are incorporated with art. Thanks for sharing again. I may make it to a very different kind of museum today. Time will dictate.

When i was in 4th grade our art teacher gave us a bunch of supplies. Pop cycle sticks, bottle caps, cloth back drop and a few other things. It made for a framed truck. It use to be displayed in my mother's farm house for years. Where it is now I dont know I'll have to ask her :-)
