Jelouu, yes I know, I haven't updated you for more than a week on the 21 day drawing challenge, but be warned, even though I'm not telling you the tidbit I've been active and even finished all the drawings at last! So settle in and let's continue with this artistic drama.

He perdido la cuenta de todas las veces que me detengo a tomarle una foto al gato, porque bueno, así somos cuando algo es muy tierno o gracioso, queremos capturar ese momento para tenerlo siempre en la memoria.
Muchas de esas veces soy yo la que prepara al gato para la sesión de fotos y le pongo algún elemento o lo que sea para hacerlo ver mas tierno, como en este caso que tome un el juguete del bebe de Shrek que me dieron hace años en McDonald e hice la foto.

I've lost count of all the times I stop to take a picture of the cat, because well, that's how we are when something is very tender or funny, we want to capture that moment to always have it in our memory.
Many of those times I am the one who prepares the cat for the photo session and I put some element or whatever to make it look more tender, as in this case I took a Shrek's baby toy that I got years ago at McDonald's and I took the picture.
Y justo pensando en esa foto decidí dibujarla para tener otro recuerdo más de mi gato Roberto.
And just thinking about that picture I decided to draw it to have one more memory of my cat Roberto.
Día 12: Gatito de creyones

Ya sabes por donde comienza todo, por el boceto. No era la primera vez que dibujaba a Michu y menos con la técnica de los creyones de óleo pastel, por lo que más o menos tenia una guía de como comenzar.
You know where it all starts, with the sketch. It wasn't the first time I drew Michu and even less with the oil pastel crayon technique, so I more or less had a guide of what to do.
Debo confesar que una de las cosas que más me ha costado últimamente es tomarle las fotografías al proceso porque a veces solo quiero dedicarme a dibujar e interrumpir para la foto se me olvida. Eso y también que el teléfono ya esta colapsado con la memoria 😭, igual aquí te dejo las pocas fotos del proceso de este dibujo.
I must confess that one of the things that has cost me the most lately is to take pictures of the process because sometimes I just want to dedicate myself to drawing and interrupting for the picture I forget. That and also that the phone is already collapsed with the memory 😭, anyway here I leave you the few photos of the process of this drawing.
La nariz es el centro del rostro y en mi gatito no es la excepción por eso decidí comenzar por allí. Con el rosa y el salmón para dar la forma y delinear bien ese espacio.
The nose is the center of the face and my kitten is no exception, so I decided to start there. With pink and salmon to give the shape and outline that space well.
Como ves mi gato es naranja y blanco y si, si tiene su toque de locura. Lo bueno de trabajar con estos creyones es que hasta el color blanco se marca muy bien sobre el papel. Para el caso del pelaje si seleccione un ocre que se me hizo bien parecido al color de mi Michu.
As you can see my cat is orange and white and yes, it does have a touch of craziness. The good thing about working with these crayons is that even the white color marks very well on the paper. In the case of the fur I did select an ochre that looked very similar to the color of my Michu.
Para mi, la clave para colorear animales y que queden de una manera más realista es tratar de imitar la textura que ellos tienes, con eso me refiero al pelaje o plumas o escamas o que se yo.
Por eso para colorear esa carita tuve que ir haciendo lineas cortas, al ser este material el rastro que deja no es del todo limpio y por eso se puede ver un poco del blanco del soporte y es justo esa textura lo que me encanta del oleo pastel.

For me, the key to coloring animals in a more realistic way is to try to imitate the texture that they have, by that I mean the fur or feathers or scales or whatever.
That's why to color that face I had to make short lines, being this material the trace it leaves is not completely clean and that's why you can see a little of the white of the support and it is just that texture what I love about oil pastels.
Sabes lo mucho que te he comentado que me encantan estos creyones, eso no lo vamos a discutir, pero una de las desventajas que tienen es que al no tener una punta afilada es muchísimo mas difícil hacer pequeños detalles con ellos.
You know how much I've told you that I love these crayons, that's not going to be discussed, but one of the disadvantages they have is that not having a sharp tip makes it much more difficult to make small details with them.
Aquí si me perdí con las fotos y solo te muestro el resultado final. Para contrastar la figura del gato que es en su mayoría en colores claros opté por un violeta bien oscuro para el fondo. ¿Recuerdas los colores complementarios? Pues el violeta es complementario del amarillo.
Here I got lost with the photos and I'll just show you the final result. To contrast the figure of the cat which is mostly in light colors I opted for a very dark violet for the background. Do you remember the complementary colors? Well, violet is complementary to yellow.
Y bueno este fue el resultado del dibujo, creo que mi cliente quedo satisfecho con su obra aunque no lo demuestre.
And well this was the result of the drawing, I think my client was satisfied with his work even if he doesn't show it.
Así transcurrió otro día más del reto de dibujo, la verdad que lo que más me ha costado todos estos días es escribir el relato y no es porque no tenga nada que decirte al respecto, es que me agarra un cansancio y me distraigo tanto en otras cosas, pero bueno ya estoy aquí y escribiendo que es lo importante.
So passed another day of the drawing challenge, the truth is that what has cost me the most these days is to write the story and it is not because I have nothing to tell you about it, is that I get tired and I get distracted in other things, but well I'm here and writing that is the important thing.
