Ya ha pasado un buen tiempo desde que les compartí una técnica de dibujo, la cual fue el achurado, que para aquellos que no la conozcan es una forma de representar un objeto, pero en vez de utilizar un sombrado normal, solo utilizaremos líneas. Estas pueden ir variando su dirección con el fin de agregar más tonalidad o textura al dibujo, pero esto ya sería parte del artista. La cuestión con todo esto es que, como soy muy primerizo con esta técnica, me puse a practicar con esta técnica para encontrar la mejor forma de mejorar y de esta manera traerles algunos ejercicios que pueden practicar con esta técnica, que sinceramente es un poco complicada, pero no imposible. Pasemos al resto del post.

It has been a while since I shared with you a drawing technique, which was the flattening, which for those who do not know it is a way to represent an object, but instead of using a normal shading, we will only use lines. These can be varying their direction in order to add more tone or texture to the drawing, but this would be part of the artist. The point with all this is that, as I am a beginner with this technique, I started to practice with this technique to find the best way to improve and in this way bring you some exercises that you can practice with this technique, which honestly is a bit complicated, but not impossible. Let's move on to the rest of the post.
El achurado es una técnica que tiene una gran variedad de representaciones dependiendo del artista o de su estilo y, a diferencia del sombreado normal, el achurado no es muy demandante en cuanto a artículos para poder crear un dibujo decente; lo único que pide es un lápiz con un valor fuerte y un buen pulso
Shading is a technique that has a wide variety of representations depending on the artist or his style and, unlike normal shading, shading is not very demanding in terms of items in order to create a decent drawing; the only thing it asks for is a pencil with a strong value and a good hand.
Este lo podemos comprobar de la siguiente manera: si tomamos una hoja en blanco, preferiblemente reciclable, ya que solo estamos haciendo ejercicios, y nos ponemos a jugar con las líneas, pero solo utilizando un solo tipo de lápiz, que en mi caso es un HB2, podremos alcanzar diferentes tonalidades dependiendo de la fuerza que ejerzamos con el lápiz.
We can check this in the following way: if we take a blank sheet of paper, preferably recyclable, since we are only doing exercises, and we start playing with the lines, but only using a single type of pencil, which in my case is an HB2, we can achieve different shades depending on the force we exert with the pencil.
Este es un buen ejercicio desde mi punto de vista, ya que podemos acostumbrar la mano para hacer líneas más delicadas y finas. Aquí podemos explorar cómo se verían las líneas desde diferentes direcciones. Por ejemplo, en la primera fila encontramos líneas inclinadas que van desde un tono claro a oscuro; en la segunda fila encontramos líneas horizontales; en la tercera fila son líneas inclinadas, pero desde dos direcciones distintas y el resultado fue bastante interesante; y en la última fila es una combinación de todo lo demás, donde tenemos líneas inclinadas y verticales desde dos direcciones distintas, creando así una textura bastante llamativa.
This is a good exercise from my point of view, as we can accustom the hand to make more delicate and thinner lines. Here we can explore how the lines would look from different directions. For example, in the first row we find slanted lines ranging from a light to dark tone; in the second row we find horizontal lines; in the third row they are slanted lines, but from two different directions and the result was quite interesting; and in the last row is a combination of everything else, where we have slanted and vertical lines from two different directions, thus creating quite an eye-catching texture.
Ya después de haber calentado la mano con todo lo anterior, pasamos al siguiente ejercicio, el cual es bastante práctico porque vamos a dibujar figuras.
Now that we have warmed up our hand with all the above, we move on to the next exercise, which is quite practical because we are going to draw figures.
En la primera figura, la cual es un círculo, varié mucho la dirección de las líneas; la varié de tal manera que fuera dando forma a las que están rotando, pero sin la necesidad de hacer semicírculos, y de esta manera se ve un poco más natural
In the first figure, which is a circle, I varied the direction of the lines a lot; I varied it in such a way that I was giving shape to the rotating ones, but without the need to make semicircles, and this way it looks a little more natural.
En la siguiente figura podemos ver un cilindro, pero visto de frente de manera que no podemos ver su forma tridimensional. Aquí no intenté variar la dirección de las líneas porque considero que los objetos alargados se ven mejor con líneas en una sola dirección.
In the following figure we can see a cylinder, but seen from the front so that we cannot see its three-dimensional shape. Here I did not try to vary the direction of the lines because I consider that elongated objects look better with lines in only one direction.
Y de esta manera podemos ir practicando con gran variedad de figuras; incluso en la plataforma de Pinterest encontramos estos tipos de figuras con el nombre de bodegón. Lo importante a tener en cuenta con este estilo es saber orientar la dirección de las líneas y con esto podemos hacer achurado con una buena textura.
And in this way we can practice with a great variety of figures; even on the Pinterest platform we find these types of figures with the name of still life. The important thing to keep in mind with this style is to know how to orient the direction of the lines and with this we can make flattened with a good texture.
En la plataforma de Pinterest también encontré unas esculturas bastante llamativas porque presentaban rasgos muy geométricos y al verlas supe que eran las indicadas para este tipo de técnica. Así que vamos con el primero.
On the Pinterest platform I also found some quite striking sculptures because they presented very geometric features and when I saw them I knew they were the right ones for this type of technique. So let's go with the first one.
Al ver la escultura, llegué a la conclusión de que la mejor parte para empezar era la de los ojos, así que empezamos con la base de la nariz para desde este punto ir desarrollando el resto de la cara. Para este dibujo utilicé un lápiz 2B; ya tenía bastante sombra, pero si ustedes quieren variar los tonos con diferentes lápices, adelante.
When I saw the sculpture, I came to the conclusion that the best part to start with was the eyes, so we started with the base of the nose to develop the rest of the face from this point. For this drawing I used a 2B pencil; I already had enough shadow, but if you want to vary the tones with different pencils, go ahead.
Considero que pudo haber quedado mejor, pero es un avance significativo. Pasemos al siguiente.

Para este dibujo sí utilicé más de un lápiz, pero igualmente el valor más alto fue el 2B, ya que en este dibujo presentaba muchas áreas con luz, las cuales eran demasiado claras para un 2B, pero no tan claras para dejarlas en blanco, así que recurrí a un H para lograr esos tonos. Lo importante, como lo vengo diciendo desde un principio, es saber orientar las líneas, eso y practicar bastante, ya que es una técnica que consiste solo en líneas y alcanzar un grado de realismo usando solo líneas lo veo como una meta muy lejana por el momento. Esto fue todo.
For this drawing I did use more than one pencil, but the highest value was 2B, since in this drawing I had many areas with light, which were too light for a 2B, but not so light to leave them blank, so I resorted to an H to achieve those tones. The important thing, as I have been saying from the beginning, is to know how to orient the lines, that and to practice a lot, since it is a technique that consists only of lines and to reach a degree of realism using only lines I see it as a very distant goal for the moment.
