Hola amigos de HiveArte, antes que nada, quiero aclarar que esta publicación no tiene nada que ver con la nueva película de Disney, ni con la polémica que existe al rededor de esta. Esta publicación trata del dibujo más difícil, pero más satisfactorio que he hecho en mucho tiempo. Se trata del regalo de cumpleaños de una amiga para su novio, y es por esto que encuentro algo de gracia en el título que decidí colocarle.

Hello friends of HiveArte, first of all, I want to clarify that this post has nothing to do with the new Disney movie, nor with the controversy that exists around it. This post is about the most difficult, but most satisfying drawing I have done in a long time. It's about a friend's birthday present for her boyfriend, and that's why I find something funny in the title I decided to give it.

Bueno, para empezar era un domingo por la noche normal, en el que encontraba viendo una película, cuando mi amiga me escribió preguntandome si podía hacer un trabajo para ella, y que sería el regalo de cumpleaños para su novio (quien también es mi amigo), en ese momento le dije que si, y me envió la imagen de referencia, que no sé de donde la sacó, pero bueno... Aquí se las dejo 😅
Well, to begin with it was a normal Sunday night, in which I was watching a movie, when my friend wrote me asking me if I could do a job for her, and that it would be the birthday present for her boyfriend (who is also my friend), at that moment I said yes, and she sent me the reference image, which I don't know where she got it from, but well.... Here it is 😅

A los pocos días dejé de debatir conmigo mismo si podría con esto o no, me dije "Cálmate, y empieza por el boceto..."
A few days later I stopped debating with myself whether I could do this or not, I said to myself "Calm down, and start with the sketch...".
Tenía que cumplir otras responsabilidades, y tenía dos meses para terminar esto, ya que mi amiga estaba consiente de lo difícil que podría ser para mí este dibujo, así que le dedicaba tiempo en las noches. Aparte de eso tenía otro problema, en el pueblo donde vivo no se estaba consiguiendo mi querido lápiz 6B, por lo que tuve que recurrir al viejo, viejo confiable Mongol N°2 😅
I had other responsibilities to fulfill, and I had two months to finish this, as my friend was aware of how difficult this drawing could be for me, so I spent time on it in the evenings. Apart from that I had another problem, in the town where I live they weren't getting my beloved 6B pencil, so I had to resort to the old, old reliable Mongol N°2 😅

A partir de aquí, tuve que empezar a llevarme esto al local donde trabajo, ya que necesitaba la luz del día para poder visualizar los detalles de mi dibujo. Entonces noté otro problema, al querer darle al cabello de la sirena un tono más oscuro, el cual el lápiz Mongol no me podía proporcionar, el exceso de presión que estaba aplicando en esa zona deterioraba la superficie de la hoja.
From here, I had to start taking this to the place where I work, since I needed daylight to be able to visualize the details of my drawing. Then I noticed another problem, when I wanted to give the mermaid's hair a darker tone, which the Mongolian pencil could not give me, the excess of pressure I was applying in that area deteriorated the surface of the sheet.
Ahora que lo veo, es increíble la paciencia y dedicación que tuve con este trabajo, creo que se debía a las personas a las que iba dirigido. Las escamas de la cola, el cabello sumergido, las burbujas, los corales y el lecho marino, y por supuesto todo el detalle que llevaba dibujar a SU MAJESTAD, fue una gran experiencia de la cual tengo el agrado de compartirles el resultado:
Now that I look at it, it's amazing the patience and dedication I had with this work, I think it was because of the people it was intended for. The scales of the tail, the submerged hair, the bubbles, the corals and the seabed, and of course all the detail that went into drawing HIS MAJESTY, was a great experience of which I am pleased to share with you the result:
La mayor satisfacción la obtuve al llegar a la casa luego de la fiesta de mi amigo, porque me enviaron esta foto:

DATO DIVERTIDO:Mi amiga me hizo trampa, logre terminar con un mes de anticipación, pero mi amiga no me quiso recibir el dibujo, sino hasta el día de la fiesta de cumpleaños, decía" ¡Está más seguro en tus manos que en las mías, créeme!"🤣
FUN FACT:My friend cheated me, I managed to finish a month in advance, but my friend didn't want me to receive the drawing, until the day of the birthday party, she said" It's safer in your hands than in mine, believe me!" 🤣.
