I signed up for a summer drawing workshop and it starts today, in a little while, but as I have been going through this excitement for days, I leave you some reflections as I prepare to face a new year of learning.

Buenas tardes amigos de Hive Arte, así sin más sorpresas, como dice el título, empiezo a contarles! Me anoté en un taller de dibujo de verano y comienza hoy, en un ratito nada más, pero como hace días estoy transitando esta emoción, les dejo algunas reflexiones mientras me preparo para encarar un nuevo año aprendiendo.
Something you should know about me is that I'm always excited to face something new, it's like that with everything I start, and how I continue depends on the flame that is growing around that firewood haha truly drawing has become part of all my days and that is only due to discipline, sit down and do, that's why I'm excited to shape it by taking a course, I don't know what will come out of it, but I come to tell you everything.

Algo que debes saber de mi es que siempre me emociona encarar algo nuevo, es así con cada cosa que empiezo, y cómo continúo depende de la llama que va creciendo alrededor de esa leña jaja verdaderamente dibujar ha vuelto a ser parte de todos mis días y eso solo se debe a la disciplina, sentarse y hacer, es por eso que darle forma tomando un curso me entusiasma, no sé qué saldrá de él, pero vengo a contarles todo.
Let's clarify that it is a workshop for beginners, it talks about losing fear, practical classes with some theory, and many exercises so as not to get frustrated, that is, what I have been doing, filling my notebooks with ideas, exercises, mixing techniques and exploring. In my case nothing new has come out, as a theme, series or a major idea that encompasses my creativity, so personally, I am willing and with my eyes wide open to take advantage of every idea, but I do not expect to be surprised or to be disappointed haha.

Aclaremos que es un taller para principiantes, habla de perder el miedo, de clases prácticas con algo de teoría, y muchos ejercicios para no frustrarse, es decir, lo que vengo haciendo, llenar mis cuadernos de ideas, ejercicios, mezclar técnicas y explorar. En mi caso no ha salido nada nuevo, como temática, serie ni una idea mayor que englobe mi creatividad, así que en lo personal, estoy dispuesta y con los ojos bien abiertos para aprovechar cada idea, pero no espero ni que me sorprenda, ni que me defraude jaja

En esa vorágine de emociones, pues es online y aun así es un primer acercamiento al mundo ilustrador, sin considerar que en mi círculo hay algunas personas artistas, es conocer también qué motiva a otros, qué los lleva a ser y hacer lo que hacen, asique me propuse comenzar ordenando materiales.
While I was looking for a notebook, others appeared, that's why I prepared a striped one, a gridded one, and two plain ones. I also found a folder with loose and varied textured sheets, I love to explore in papers. Of course I also found my large collection of markers, some pencils, crayons, pastels and watercolors. Plus the classic pencil cases with markers, pencils, rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, etc.

Mientras ordenaba buscando un cuaderno, aparecieron otros, es por eso que preparé uno a rayas, uno cuadriculado, y dos lisos. Además encontré una carpeta con hojas texturadas sueltas y variadas, me encanta explorar en papeles. Por supuesto también mi amplia colección de marcadores, algunos lápices, crayones, pasteles y acuarelas. Además de las clásicas cartucheras con rotuladores, lápices, regla, goma, sacapuntas, etc.
I really don't want to take away from the romanticism and mystique of the course, but I'm already excited about preparing the materials. When I was a little girl I enjoyed sorting the materials as much as sitting down to create and definitely that flood of memories have come back to me, arranging pencils, sharpening them, cleaning the table, and thinking about letting go of my hand.

Realmente no quiero quitarle romanticismo ni mística al curso, pero ya me entusiasma preparar los materiales. De pequeña disfrutaba tanto ordenar los materiales como sentarme a crear y definitivamente esa catarata de recuerdos han llegado a mi, acomodar lápices, sacarle punta, limpiar la mesa, e ir pensando en soltar la mano.
Of course, the most important thing is to let go of all the rules, or rather, to adjust it to only one, that's why I tried a new technique to get shapes from other images, and as my thing is always far from realism, it works for me. I took some pictures from magazines and I started to almost “trace” silhouettes or important parts, as well as I removed some things or prioritized others.It's just an idea to begin to give sense to the hand for when the workshop begins, but in the meantime go activating the imagination, I will surely start to color or give more intensity to some lines, but it is not something finished nor is it a project.

Claro, lo más importante, soltar la mano de todas las reglas, o mejor dicho, ajustarla a una sola, es por eso que probé una nueva técnica para obtener formas de otras imágenes, y como lo mío siempre está lejos del realismo, me sirve. Tomé unas fotos de revistas y me puse a casi “calcar” siluetas o partes importantes, así como también saqué algunas cosas o priorice otras. Es solo una idea para comenzar a darle sentido a la mano para cuando comience el taller, pero mientras tanto ir activando la imaginación, seguramente empiece a colorear o darle mayor intensidad a algunas líneas, pero no es algo terminado ni se trata de un proyecto.

De todos modos hasta aquí llega mi posteo de hoy, espero que les haya gustado. En cuanto a lo demás, preparativos, emociones y materiales, usé todo mi enfoque en tener todo listo, algunos dirán que es ansiedad, yo considero que es una emoción muy grande que encuentro en algo que aún no ha comenzado, lo que me indica que debo estar en el camino correcto.
