So, there's this cat.
My down-the-street-and-across-the-busy-road-neighbour's cat.
Except she's always here.
Sneaking in the back door, carrying out precision raids on the kitchen, suddenly appearing on my lap while watching television, sunbathing in the way on the top step, and lurking under the house playing queen of the castle on top of our mountain of moving boxes. I keep waking up with her draped across me or spread out at the foot of the bed - even after checking she's not in the house before I go to bed.
When she first started visiting we jokingly referred to her as Timeshare Cat. Now I think she views this as her house. Luckily she's totally lovely. We've let the owner know and she does go home for at least a little while each day.
The weirdest thing (apart from magically appearing on the bed overnight) is that she doesn't trigger an allergic reaction in me. I'm hugely allergic to cats and usually only have to look at one to have my eyes red, swollen and itchy and my nose running like a tap. None of that here. It's all very, very strange.
Hoping to post more about her crimes ... er, I mean adventurous visits, here.
Until next time,
@Sammie
Too funny! We used to have a Timeshare Cat as well, although we called him "Six Dinner Sid" - funny thing was, we named him Sid (short for Obsidian) before we realized he was essentially the neighborhood's cat & hadn't heard of the book until a neighbor told us about it. 😄
She's absolutely adorable, and I hope to see more of her visits with you. Happy Caturday!
Oh I love that, "Six Dinner Sid"! I just looked up the picture book in my library catalogue and we have the one about his Highland Adventure. I might have to borrow it and read it to Timeshare Cat ;-)
