There's different levels and magnitudes to these types of people, and you definitely want to stay away from the true tormenters who enjoy it. Western culture calls it "Narcissism", and is a pretty popular topic these days.
They are generally pretty sad people that no one respects and they have nothing of any real substance to offer to anyone or the world around them.
They hate themselves and want you to as well.
