A nice little silver win from the local estate auction... I've started to up my stink bids a little bit to reflect the higher price of silver and gold, which means that my bids are starting to be a little bit competitive... and sometimes, they do sneak through!
Not a very interesting one this time... but silver is silver!
This is a New Zealand silver coin that was done in 1989 to commemorate the Commonwealth Games, it weighs in at around 28 grams and is Sterling Silver (92.5 percent purity). I still like the lower silver purities, they often also feature some nice designs or some event... but this one is a bit meh... it is a weightlifter, and the design is a bit bland if you ask me!
... but still, clean lines, and silver is silver is silver! But it is on the list of things that I would happily swap for something else.

... and I have to say, the Commonwealth Queen is still one of the best looking heads on coinage that there is... I'm still not fond of heads on coinage, they always look weird... but not looking like an undead ghoul is always a good thing!
So, with the higher bids in play... I wonder if I'll pick up more in this next round of auctions... there is quite a bit up on the page, and I'm bidding away... but while I was picking this up, my wife and I also saw a nice fold out desk bureau, a few pieces of artwork, and a couple of chests as well... So, lots of interesting bids went in... and I saw that my wife also put in some bids for some other artwork and small knick-knack pieces as well!
Now I don't feel at all guilty about the silver bids!
