Hello to all,
It's Alex from Britishstacker again
its Saturday again and we will be going through this coin called the battle of the somme
The coin which I got was the year of 2016 which was the 100th Anniversary and this coin was in partnership with the imperial war museum
Also the coin box shows you the history behind the anniversary as the Battle of Somme started in 1916 which lasted for 4 years.
During the first day alone about 57,470 casualties of the British army who had
suffered
However during the summer of 2016 The British and not forgetting the French armies who both had launched a joint offensive attack on the Germans to rupture the lines of the Somme, and as the war ended in November the casualty toll had risen to a total of 419,654.
The coin mintage was sold to 6,000 where I have got the coinage number at 1,783.
And the coin shows the design of the the airplane which the words of World War 1 and the years between 2014-2018 and the word 'Somme' as well.
I hope that this coin serves you a good lesson behind the battle of the somme
Have a good day everyone coinstackers.
Alex (Britishstackers).
