Goldbacks Arrive in Australia!

A short while ago SGS Legend @summertooth offered to do a Group Buy of Goldbacks on behalf of any of our international community members who were interested...and there were a few of us. I jumped at the opportunity because I love the idea of the Goldback. They are just as shiny as coins or rounds with some nice artworks on each one too so they are very pleasing to the eye. I wasn’t going to miss out!

For me they are a great addition to the stack, but they are excellent talking points too. I had decided I wanted to get one for each US State that was represented so I picked up a 1/1000th note for South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, New Hampshire and Utah. To me they are a concept that are a great reminder of what Gold Backed Currency was all about and perhaps could be again in future, so I plan to put them on display somewhere in my home.

The US leads the world in so many things (both good and bad) but there is a clear direction from some US states to re-recognize the role of precious metals in our money. With inflation running rampant in recent times there are more and more people waking up to the Fiat Currency Scam every day and they are realizing their purchasing power is being slowly (or even quickly) eroded away.

I’d love to see Australia producing something like this and maybe one day we will follow the lead of the US but for now I’ll just admire what these states are doing from afar. Massive thanks to @summertooth for organizing the group buy and posting over here to Australia. You are a champion among champions my friend and most definitely appreciated!

Right on broski! Thanks for the nice words too. I think I read that the Aurum Co. was releasing there first non-US Goldback soon. One thing I do know is that these are all privately funded, so anyone with the cash can have one made for any state and I'd presume, any country. Might be some fodder for another Goldback post from me xD

Cheers, Bugged!

They are popping up everywhere!

Nice grabs. I like what they mean but I’d never pay those premiums. I’ve been selling off novelty and higher end semi numismatic stuff for straight bullion for a while now. I still have my collector graded coins but that’s my collection not stack.

Yeh, the premiums are high and that's why went with the small denomination. That said I think the premiums will hold up on these.

I don’t doubt they hold the premium. But it’s another thing I have to store in someway other than what I’m already storing. I’ve been selling off semi numismatic coins for the same reason. Too much space

That would be cool to see an Australian version Goldback with the same 1/1000 Toz. specs. AND they would perfectly exchangable regardless of any country or state.

South Dakota, Wyoming, Nevada, New Hampshire and Utah are what I have too. I think that is all they have for now, but you can get them in different denominations.
Awesome addition to your stack!

Those are quite eye catching....

I think it's my first time coming across the term "Gold Backs"....

Are they actually gold?

Yes, they contain the gold.

Good

That's really great to know about them and hope so you have many more collection like this.

I’m just knowing about Gold Backs for the first time
Looks like you know a lot about Gold
