Tracking the HIVE : SILVER Ratio

Experienced stackers would be familiar with the Gold to Silver Ratio (GSR) as a common reference to how these two precious metals valuations compare to each other. Generally when the GSR hits extremes one way or the other it's a good time to make a preference for buying or selling one metal or the other, or even to swap between the two. I have been thinking recently about our fundraising here at SGS but before I get into that I wanted to have a look at The Hive to Silver Ratio...which I'll reference here as the HSR.

It's a bit tricky to get a nice chart for the HSR without doing some data extraction and building up a spreadsheet of my own, but I thought I could get a quick sample and take a few snapshots by using the compare feature on the CMC Markets website.

To get the Silver price on CMC I used the crypto KAG which is a Silver-Backed-Crypto and it does follow the Spot Silver price in US Dollars fairly accurately. I'm looking back over the last 18 months for a specific reason and if you've had a close look at the chart above you might see a clue there as to what that reason is.

I've marked 2 snapshots on the chart which are the dates that tickets went on sale for our last 2 Monster Raffle Fundraisers here at SGS and of course I am also looking at the prices today. They are as follows :-

DateSilver PriceHive PriceHSR
16-Sept-23$23.18$0.30077.27
1-July-24$29.42$0.215136.84
11-Jan-25$30.41$0.55454.89

So you can see that the HSR is fluctuating quite a bit, but especially in the last few weeks it is dropping like a stone. I'll make another post about what this might mean for our future fundraising efforts here at SGS, but for now I think it's worth considering that this HSR is probably worth tracking. Especially if the Hive price keeps pumping the way it has been recently.

And thus, a new metric is born that gauges the likelihood for the next MONSTER RAFFLE?

Are we to understand that this way?

Well...possibly. I'll delve into that in a future post, but I think it could (or should?) be a factor to consider.

Silver price started to rise , Now it's time to go up, Silver is getting ready.

That’s an interesting chart. Do you think this spike will hold?
