As I sit here typing, the thunder is booming and rain is coming down. It is kind of a relief really, as we have needed a good rain for the grass, flowers, and other plants. Of course my bailey girl hates thunderboomers and wants to hang out with me when they are cracking. I am good with that, because she is my big fur baby.
This last week, even the last two weeks, has been a blur. I have been busy standing up my consulting business and getting all the I's dotted and T's crossed. Registering with the state is a breeze, registering it to do business with the federal government on the other hand is a goat rope.
Anyway, everything is almost complete and ready to start beating the bushes for clients. I have already started hunting and finding prospects. So far I have a couple nibbles and with my limited sales skills, hopefully can win the over when the time comes to call for action on their part.
Had a little standdown on Sunday and we grilled a crap ton of burgers and dogs. Not real dogs, just wanted to make that clear considering recent news reporting. I was slightly distracted while grilling, and broke a couple of the patties and charred others. My mind was elsewhere I guess.
My youngest was supposed to eat with us, but backed out the last minute as he needed to study for an exam. Even if he decided to eat with us, we would have a ton of leftovers. Leftovers when it comes to burgers is a good thing far as I'm concerned. In fact I might have one shortly for breakfast. Hey, don't judge.
Well, after the grilling I got around to opening up a package received on Satueday from Monument Metals. I had ordered a couple of pieces from them and include one below. It is a 1 ounce Britannia. I will share the other piece in a day or two.
I took the photo in my light bo, but experimented with low light this time. To be frank, I don't care much for the photos in low light. I think I needed a little more lighting. Plus the photos almost seem blurred. Not sure if the blurring is from the low lighting or my lack of photography skills. Probably both.
This is the first coin I have with King Charles. I think this photo is a little better than the one of the other side.
I still have a few coins on the dining room table that I need to take care of and share on here. This time I am not rushed as we have nobody coming over in the near future for dinner to use the table.
Well, that is about it for now. It is 4AM and I need to catch a nap before my appointment at the VA today. Getting fitted for thigh high compression socks. The neurologist believes they will help with the neuropathy in my legs and feet. I think they will make me look like a twisted male hooker.
Well, off to sleep I must go.

Burgers are always awesome! Very busy weekend indeed! Dogs never like thunder or fireworks for that matter.
I hope the search for clients goes well. Paperwork sucks getting a business going, the sad part is it gets worse as you go especially if you are making money.
I hope those compression stockings help, neuropathy can't be much fun. It will be interesting to know if they actually help.
Nice coin by the way, Britannia's are pretty coins! I do hope eventually they will move away from using the monarch on everything and make beautiful coins. On the same note I would like the presidents to disappear from ours and put Liberty back on there... No one listens to us "little" people...
I agree about the Presidents. It is time to change up the coinage. Hell the penny has had Lincoln on it since 1909.
