Today the Local Coin Shop had plenty of Silver. But, it was like going to the Ice Cream Parlor, with plenty of ice cream, all vanilla. Don't get me wrong, I love vanilla, but... Basically, Generics and, mostly, four nines pure. I did fine one scratch & dent American Silver Eagle, for only $29(USD).
Sometimes, there are some interesting & hard to find items, in this case. But not lately. I had to rely on the old faithful, 90%, US Constitutional Silver, junk box, today.
Every year, more & more, of these beauties, are turning a century old.
This old dateless, Standing Liberty Quarter-Dollar, is either a 1916(rare) or 1917. From 1918 on, there were three stars under the low flying Eagle. The wear & tear, of this Quarter-Dollar, is a testimony, to the job it did as real, valuable money. Actually, it is still working and storing value, today.
The 35%, Silver Five-Cents, “Nickels” are one of my favorites. They are one of the few Silver items, that the LCS, sells for under Silver spot price. I always pick out the overlooked, nicer condition ones. Today, their melt value is over $1.28 and the LCS, usually lets them go for $1, or lower, if one buys a bunch.
This is one of my favorite, US Commemorative Silver Dollars (90%):
Have you every wondered why, Coin Money, is made with Gold or Silver or even Copper:
One of the definitions, or demands, of Money, is its durability.
This is not intended to be financial advice. This is all about a fun hobby, of collecting & stacking Silver Coins and such.
Thanks again for checking it out, on #silvergoldstackers, where Stackers show & share their treasures thought & ideas.
Lol! Jamaica! It is commemorative silver isn't it?
Thanks again, Kerris L Ravenhill - @kerrislravenhill. I found this Jamaican Five Dollar Coin, on a rainy day, in a Walmart parking lot. I always pick up discarded, loose change. No, it's not silver. I don't think it's even stainless steel. But, I really like the message it sends.
A whole lot of silver. It can be difficult to choose when there's literally thousands of coins !
Thanks again for looking and commenting, @olympicdragon. They are all the same Silver rounds, not much to decide on.
Yay!!!
Stack on @cve3 !

Nice pick up! I especially like the S war nickel. What a fantastic find and a reminder that once upon a time the San Francisco Mint made coins for general circulation.
Thanks for looking and showing your interest, @handofzara. I picked this 1942-S, up a few months ago.
Looks like you had a great day looking at coins.
Thanks for checking it out and commenting, Sheila Alexander - @salexa5. Yes, the Local Coin Shop is within walking distance.
I have always noticed silver coin always looking much more different every times though
What a fantastic find and a reminder that once upon a time the San Francisco Mint made coins for general circulation.
