Is Copper considered a precious metal? Depends who you ask I guess. It is an abundant base metal, and is used in jewelry and coins. Our Canadian penny used to be made out of copper until 1996, then the realized that the amount of copper in it was worth more than one cent, and switched to copper plated zinc. Right now a pound of copper is worth around $4 US, gaining in value lately. I believe it is worth more and will keep rising this year. A copper round on eBay goes for around $3 or so. Get em cheap while you can!
I have included two stamps issued in 1972, a $1 depiction of the Vancouver shoreline, and a $2 Quebec landscape, both are part of the “Landscape Definitives” series. The Vancouver stamp i s my favourite, how about you?

Nice copper round! That's a cool one for sure! I think it's a precious metal, or at lest semi precious as they like to say... Those are some pretty stamps too, nice collection you have there. You must have a nice stamp collection!

Not too bad, don't like to spend too much on stamps, as they don't have intrinsic value like silver, copper or gold. Can't justify it.

I don't know if you can consider copper as precious metal, but if it's valuable in dollars, then it means that someone out there wants it, and it's not useless.
Beautiful shots

There is definitely demand for copper. I bet the price doubles this year..thanks.

I thought I recognized the mountains skyline, I grew up in suburbs of Vancouver.

Nice, BC is a beautiful place!

Keep up the copper posts and you might become @summertooth's bestie..

Lol, maybe..

I don't know. If all the people in the world agree that copper is a precious metal, then copper will be a precious metal. But if all the people on the planet agree that we are immortal, will we be immortal?
!HUG

Lets agree (at least) that copper is very important metal ... irreplaceable; its price has increased due to technical processes nowadays. But of course everything is relative - and comparing to noble silver and gold, copper could not be considered a precious metal.

Maybe important is a better way to describe copper than precious.

It's all in the perception right.

looks precious @daveks
