1882 Morgan $1

Another recent pick up for the stack.

This coin is beat up. Tons of toning or dirt on it. Not sure but I really like it.

So old.

A lot of history.

Wondering where this coin has been.

what does the -s mean after the 1882 ?

Make some trades for this with some generic 1 oz silver rounds.

Take a look!

I’ve been building up my silver holdings a lot recently. I still have a bunch of other stuff to show off. I’m going to be slowing down though on it now. My car just keeps needing repairs and I’m going to quit fixing it and start saving for a new (used) car. After I pick up a car I’ll get back to growin both silver and crypto holdings.

That’s oxidative reaction. The S is for San Francisco Mint.

Oh cool. I though it was the mint but was not sure.

Nice coin with some nice details left there. I agree it's around an MS 64, too bad it's oxidized, but it's still a nice coin from San Francisco. I love Morgan dollars, my favorites are from Carson City and San Fransisco!

Nice pickup! Even with the toning, it’s got character, I'm imagining all the hands it’s passed through. The S probably means it was minted in San Francisco. I hope the car situation works out so you can get back to stacking soon

Morgans are my favorite US Coin.
I managed to live without owning a car for about ten years being close to a transportation hub but I was also part of a local car Cooperative when I really needed a car. What I saved from NOT owning a car I plowed into paying off my home mortgage. I've been mortgage free for the last five years and have been stacking harder since to meet my long termed target.

that is awesome to have your house paid off. Seems like fewer and fewer are able to accomplish this.

Beautiful coin! The patina on it adds to its story.
