Everything is collectible because there is a collector for everything! A little-known collector's item is unusual serial numbers on US notes. So I began keeping my eyes open for unique serial numbers, things like sequential (123456...) or repeating.
I looked down at my change from the grocery store and noticed the same number "6" repeating over 5x as the first five numbers. That's not something you see every day! Also, it has the number "6" written four more times in the corners - making contain the number "6" 9x on the front of this note.
The bill is mostly uncirculated, although there are a few folds in the note, it's still crisp and new.
On eBay, they're called "fancy" serial numbers. Some (actually most) sell for face value, but a few that are extra "fancy" can be worth considerably more. Interestingly, a very similar note sold on eBay for over 6x it's face value!
What do you think, could I sell this dollar I found for some profit? Would it be worth the time and effort to try to get some CASH for this cash?

I have a low serial number bill also. If this one does well, maybe I can sell that too.
I think the number that appeared so many times is an evidence of the value if the cash. Maybe it will multiply more with time.
Maybe... or maybe I should sell it now and the buyer can hope for that. :-)

That seems suspicious and goes against the law of big numbers.
The probability for a repeating number is so low, that's what makes it valuable. It's very unusual to find a serial number like this.

There truly are collectors for everything, and some of the things they collect can be weird! Pretty cool bill, never dawned on me that repeating numbers would be of value, live and learn!

I sold a book end with lots of threes once. Got $13.00 for it! Hey 13X ain’t bad. I assume the really rare ones like all same number or first ones with mostly zeros are not released and taken early in process to be sold. But yea there’s a collector for everything indeed! Cheers friend
