Maillardville British Columbia is just a stones throw from me. Coquitlam's French quarter that celebrates their Festival Du Bois every spring and one of the traditional treats is of course Maple syrup on a stick.

That sounds delightful, sis! Festival Du Bois must be a wonderful celebration of French Canadian culture in British Columbia. Maple syrup on a stick is such a delicious treat and a charming tradition.
We make Maple Candy similar to maple syrup on a stick. We used to make it in Lake Tahoe during winters with my parents. My brothers and I would pack a baking pan with clean snow (that is half the fun), and Mom, after boiling the maple syrup, would drizzle maple syrup on the snow, trailing about 6 to 8 inches long. Then we wait a while (we count to 50!), then she wraps the taffy around wooden sticks! Sweetness!!!!
Much !LUV always, sis 🤗🌺❤️
