When I was little I can barely remember watching from a park on Burrard inlet and seeing what appears to be an aircraft carrier that barely fit under the Lion's gate bridge. I don't remember the name but thinking back this was only a small carrier but impressive.

Once you see in in person it's amazing, it takes years to build them. I think they may now be limited in scope and fewer will be made since military needs are different. However, China is making carriers now so who knows?
