I received this Little John 1oz silver coin a few months back, the third coin of the Royal Mint's Robin Hood series, from their Myths and Legends collection.
Little John
Little John is from the Robin Hood UK folklore. He was a friend of Robin Hood, and served as his chief lieutenant - second in command of the Merry Men. His name is ironic as he is portrayed as a heavy build 7ft tall man (Source).
Little John 1oz Silver Coin
This 1oz pure silver coin is from the Royal Mint's Myths and Legends collection. This was the third and final year release of the Robin Hood three coin themed collection - first Robin Hood was released, then Maid Marian, and finally Little John.
The front side of the coin features Little John, wielding a quarterstaff, among the Sherwood Forest trees, ferns at his feet - all on top of a micro dot texture background. Along the curve of the coin is the text "LITTLE JOHN - 1OZ - FINE SILVER - 999 - 2022".
The Queen side of the coin features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, looking to the right. The artist Jody Clark's initials are just below the Queen.
Along the curve of the coin is the text "QUEEN ELIZABETH II - D - G - REG - F - D - 2 POUNDS", her title initials in Latin - Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor, which translates to 'By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith'.
Fine silver coins for the stack, Royal Mint is well respected. I have some of the Maid Marian 1oz silver coins, and keeping a lookout for the Robin Hoods. New pickups tomorrow, I'm looking forward to a fresh stack :)

I like the fine details of many of the Royal mint coins, minting techniques on display :)
I didn’t start that series and don’t think I’m going to. It’s nice but after the queens beast series the Royal Mint can’t do any better.
I'll have to take a closer look at the queen's beast series.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure I actually saw the 1oz Robin on the sgs web site for a couple days but then it was gone, it'll be back :) it's interesting how many titles the Queen had.
