Hello my fellow friends,
Another week has passed and one more time I want to share a piece from my silver coins collection. This time a showcase of my coins from the Witcher Book Series continues with the next silver 2 oz. coin - The Sword of Destiny.
You can read about first coin from the series here:

About release:
Following the success of 'The Last Wish' silver coin, Mennica Gdańska continued to pay tribute to the Witcher book series by Andrzej Sapkowski with their second release, the 'Sword of Destiny' silver coin.
The 'Sword of Destiny' silver coin was issued in 2020, with the blessing of Andrzej Sapkowski's estate. Like its predecessor, this limited edition coin has a strict mintage of just 2,000 pieces globally, making it a sought-after collectible for Witcher enthusiasts and numismatists alike.
Coin specifications:
The 'Sword of Destiny' coin is struck in .999 pure silver, weighing 2 troy ounces (62.2 grams) and boasting a diameter of 45 mm. The coin features a high relief, enhancing the coin's visual appeal and showcasing the design's intricate details.
Obverse design:
The obverse of the coin, like the previous issue, features the coat of arms of Niue, the South Pacific island nation which has officially issued the coin. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley is displayed, with the inscription "ELIZABETH II". Also inscribed is the coin's denomination of "2 DOLLARS" and the issuing year "2020".
Reverse design:
The reverse pays tribute to the 'Sword of Destiny', the second book in The Witcher series. The main scene depicts three significant characters: Eithne, the Queen of Brokilon, offering a chalice to Ciri, alongside the Dryad Braenn. The background features Geralt of Rivia slaying a skolopendromorph, a forest monster. The Witcher's sword is gold-plated and the cup is made from hand-polished, multi-layered glass embedded with gold flakes, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship. The design also includes inscriptions of "THE WITCHER" and "THE SWORD OF DESTINY", along with Andrzej Sapkowski's signature, further enhancing the coin's exclusivity.
Presentation and packaging:
Similar to 'The Last Wish' coin, each 'Sword of Destiny' coin comes in a high-quality wooden presentation box, decorated with The Witcher's iconic wolf symbol on the lid. The box includes a numbered certificate of authenticity, confirming the coin's specifications and limited mintage.
Investment potential:
In 2020, the coin was listed for a price of 1399 PLN. Fast forward to now, just three years later, you can order it from the mint for 4499 PLN (+221%), a solid return on investment. The second market listing varies from 3500 PLN to 4000 PLN, giving a decent ROI in just 3 years from the release.
Conclusion:
The 'Sword of Destiny' silver coin is yet another impressive tribute to the world of The Witcher and is a must for any fan of the book series. Its limited mintage, unique design, and attention to detail make it a valuable addition to any collection. This coin embodies the enduring legacy of Andrzej Sapkowski's work, serving as a beautiful piece of art that truly encapsulates the Witcher universe.
