The SilverGoldStackers (SGS) community produced a commemorative silver round each year when we were on our 'legacy chain.' Those of us who migrated to Hive were thrilled with the shiny, new ecosystem and its greater decentralization, but SGS somehow never continued the production of the silver rounds as a group.
To be honest, it was quite a lot of work to do it, especially for the kind soul who accepted delivery of the silver and distributed it to everyone who bought it. I clearly remember seeing some quite shocking photos from @raybrockman who did the work at least one year, perhaps more. Just imagine unpacking hundreds of silver rounds, putting them in numerical order for those who reserved specific serial numbers, checking & double-checking the quantities ordered by each person, stuffing them into envelopes or boxes, printing the labels, then transporting them all to the shipping point. We probably should have chipped-in a little extra to buy him a couple rounds in appreciation for what he did.
Sometime in 2020 after Hive forked from the legacy chain, @raybrockmam designed and hand-poured some hexagonal Hive silver for those of us who wanted one! They were awesome! Then, we had nothing (that I recall, at least) in 2021 and 2022. But, in 2023, @silversaver888 worked with Pit Bullion Silver to have another piece of silver produced with the Hive logo for anyone who wanted to order one. She did it again last year in 2024 and I was happy to add one of these to my collection. 😊
...and yeah, it was almost a year ago when I got this, so I am quite late talking about it... 😸
This is such a crisp, clean piece! I rather like the way the edge is freeform and unique, not constrained to a traditional 'round' or 'bar' shape. @silversaver888 did a great job designing it, and Pit Bullion Silver executed her design in a wonderful way! The Hive logo really pops on this one, and the little bee is a fabulous addition to the design. The stamped "25" is the serial number, and the purity mark indicates one troy ounce (ozt) of .999 Fine Silver.
Pit Bullion Silver included a little card in each pack to certify the authenticity of the silver in the piece. PIT BULLion has a pit bull for his logo. 😂 The COA card is shown below:
