My First Silver Purchases - 2022 Australia's Perth Mint - Myths & Legends Phoenix Silver Round

2022 Australia Myths and legends phoenix 1oz silver coin.jpg

The third silver purchase

While prepping our emigration back to Spain in the first 6 months of 2022, I decided to buy another silver coin just before we'd head back. I believe I received it in May of 2022, just weeks before departure. I remember being a bit nervous about postal services blocking the delivery there, or maybe there even was an incident, I can't remember it precisely but the most important thing is that the coin made it home in time.

As I already had the Australian Myths and legends dragon silver coin from 2021 in possession, it did not take me long to discover the follow up coin, namely the phoenix. In my opinion it's absolutely stunning and I knew immediately that this was going to be my next purchase.

The phoenix

Now some know what kind of challenges our family had to overcome in the past after becoming homeless and starting over in a new country. It surely hasn't been easy and most definitely took a tole on our mental health for several years. Everyone that has lost a loved one also knows that that alone can be a reason to have a hard time finding back yourself, living on without that person, I had two of these persons that I had to leave behind and it took me years to find back my strength and motivation to really be positive again and grow as a person.

As the phoenix symbolises (amongst others) transformation, I could relate because at that point there was little left of the person who I once was but I came back stronger mentally from all this for sure. I learned a lot (the hard way) but our resilience, don't forget it was not just me but also my partner standing beside me, that got us through the many challenges of starting over while leaving 99% of what you had behind.

I'm not religious personally, but I believe in something, what it is, I don't know but the universe has been kind to me to show me some powerful things quite some times now that I can't say 'there's nothing out there'. Myths and legends are interesting to me and with this phoenix silver round it felt like it represented the end of an era where we closed the book of living in a country where we never were happy and move back to Spain, which I had dreamed of for the full 4,5 years after we left.

Powerful mindset

The full six months towards the emigration surely represented a period of growth to me in many ways. Where one of us would feel that it was mission impossible to achieve paying off debts AND have enough to start over in Spain, I slept a night on it to come back with a full budget plan and said "we're going to make it happen". And so we did. With me being on the budget very tightly and highly motivated to sell as many things as possible that stayed behind, I showed myself and my partner that it was not easy but definitely possible.

Energy for 10

Where I was used to having not enough hours in a day or not enough energy to get through the days living in Budapest (being unhappy does that to a person, lol), I suddenly had energy for 10 and was on fire from the moment I woke up until I went to bed. Honestly, I surprised myself every day, but with every milestone achieved I found more motivation and creative ways to get closer to the budget goal for the emigration.

This coin is close to my heart

This item will never be sold as it represents so much to me and I love it so much. My boyfriend instantly picked this one as his favourite coin design when we checked our silver in the weekend, I tend to agree that this is definitely one of the most beautiful designs we currently own, yet the meaning of it is why it's my absolute favourite piece in our collection. It was bought during a phase of transformation and it reminds me of the powerful mind I have whenever I feel distracted or lost, looking for answers.

Value today

As with the previous two coins I shared, I also took a quick look at the value today, below you can see the value according to Numista:

Then I also checked google for some prices to compare:

That one is equal to the price mentioned in Numista, but not in stock. I found this one in stock with a much higher price:

To my shock, then I found another one in stock for less than half of that price:

So if anyone is interested in this one and wants to buy it 10 euros below Numista's mentioned value, go ahead and follow the link.. This makes me realise that I should be careful following these valuations as there may always be a good deal somewhere if you look well enough. I still think it's fun to do some digging and get a feel of certain series that may do well usually rather than just checking the silver value alone.

If there are websites that you could use to find these valuations easier, please do share in a comment...

A good reminder

Isn't it funny that it was this coins turn exactly on the day that I needed this little reminder for myself to stay focused as I can achieve a lot when the mindset is right? This is what I mean with the universe having her ways, writing this post gave me so much renewed energy, I hope you enjoyed reading it..

Learn all about this shit in the toilet paper! 💩

Yeah I tend to stay away from high premiums as well and try to find as close to spot as possible while still loving the buy :) !PIMP

Up your game, bro, and stop all this whining xD

I like that coin! The valuation is tough, I agree. Since I only sell things on eBay for the most part (and Hive on occasion ;)) they are the ones I use to assign a price.

Reminds me of a bluegrass song I really like...

That's a nice song! Never heard it before.. thanks for sharing !LUV

And yes, I can imagine if you mostly sell on Ebay that's the pricing you follow for your listings..

This coin is definitely not one I'd part with so in the end it doesn't matter :)

!PIMP

Nice! I have not sold much silver, but I do from time to time if it's a piece where the value really skyrockets.

Yeah I get it, I reckon at some point I will do the same but for that I need a much bigger collection as now I'm fond of most of the items I have.. !LUV

That is such a cool coin! Great pickup! I don't have one of those yet... I'll have to work on that! How's the back holding up?
!PIMP

It's really beautiful lol I'm so happy to have this one..
The back is doing very well, thanks for asking. In fact, tomorrow will be the first time in I think close to a year that I'm just going to the doctor for blood pressure medication only which is a win!

I'm definitely not fully pain free but it's not limiting me most days, with a few exceptions but I can honestly say that I haven't felt this good in a while when it comes to my back. I've been lifting some stuff again like groceries and house hold chores mostly without any issues, which is great!

How are you doing? !PIMP
