Good evening folks, thanks for stopping by for another new coin added to the stack.

Tonight I bring you the 2020 Year of the Mouse 1 oz silver coin from the Perth Mint.

The reverse of the coin shows Queen Elizabeth II crowned and wearing the George IV State Duaden and Victorian Coronation Necklace.
Year: 2020
Value: 1
Currency: Australian Dollar
Silver: .999
Weight: 31.1035 grams
Diameter: 40.6mm
Thickness: 3.21mm

Featuring two mice munching on some corn husks which do look proper cute. The detail of the mice and corn husks is defined and a great design.
This coin is part of the 10 that I bought on a recent shopping trip. It was an expensive trip but an amazing investment for sure.
If I can I will try to collect some more of this set, they look amazing.

Numista as always is a great help.

The main motif of the coin is, of course, mice. But it is strange that coins with the most important human foods - rice, corn, potatoes and wheat, oats, barley and rye - have never been minted anywhere.
