Cornwall has been left in a covid crisis after a 2000% rise since G7 the figures will shock you and now cornwall is awaiting the tourism season with locals families being made homeless once again to make room for them.
99 % of cornish hotels are fully booked for the summer season as the goverment annonced most contrys off limits for hollidays this year and therefore most people will holliday in the uk. But is all of this creating a perfect storm for the pandemics come back with a 2000% rise since The world leaders mostly ignorned the 2meter rule of keeping a safe distance but they funnily did once or twice for the worlds media. Even the Australian PM went on a pub crawl ignoring the fact of the pandemic.
We the local people have been now left after the world came to our beautiful little county and we now have to battle this 2000% increase in covid cases with the new variernt being found all over cornwall.
Now we have the influx of tourists and this year will be one of the busiest on record due to restrictions going abroad. I belive this is going to cause a perfect storm for the new covid varient to take hold of the local community during summer months in places like TRURO LOOE PADSTOW you cant keep a social distance its praticularly impossible due to the small streets in the fishing harbors and all of these things worry me Yes i qgree G7 was a massive boost to the cornish economy but at what cost. And i also agree that tourism brings cash into cornwall but im also worried about the elderly populstion of cornwall and peoples health its not just this our Local authority are kicking homeless people out of the BnBs that they housed during the pandemic to make way for tourists now i belive this is disgusting how can you give people hope stability and take it all away for MONEY!
These are local people who have been born and bred in cornwall famalies how is this a fair society.
Im just worried about my beauriful home obviously I want to share the beauty of cornwall with the world but i belive it should be done safely i dont think G7 was nessecary it could had been done at the UN in a responsible way. I just hope we can control this 2000% spike before its too late.
