In the biomass of the Earth, the volume of representatives of the animal world is small: 2 gigatonnes of carbon, of which half is accounted for by insects, arachnids and crustaceans, and another 0.7 Gt - for fish. The share of humanity, 0.06 Gt (about 0.01%), significantly exceeds the total mass of all wild mammals (0.007 Gt).
